Tell me about the first time you raced, your screw ups, missed gears, or just plain stallin it.
My first, and only race to date, was back last year in early december, when the air is thick with O2 and hp is good. I pulled up to a formula 1994 firebird, and revved a lil bit. He reved after he put in into neutral, and on the light we took off. He got out on me by about a car length at the start, but I caught up in 3rd and we ended with me about half to a whole car length ahead. I was kind of surprised considering formulas are pretty quick arent they?

First race? Uh way back in 1985 I was driving my 67 Cougar. 289 2v auto 3.00 gears. I raced one of the guys in town with a simply beautiful 66 Stang with a 289 4V 4 spd and 4.11's. It was white with black stripes black interior, mine was red with a black top and interior. Can you figure out who won that one? I didnt win a race untill I bought my 72 GTO. I built a nice 400 for it and went out GT mustang smashing. lol.
Just this past saturday night, well my TH400 is messin up on me, so I am gonna rebuild my other one. Heres the lowdown. I made my first run, no first gear, it started in 2nd. I moved the shifter into neutral after it hit third and wound to 6000, brought it back and it only ran an 8.1 @ 94 mph. Really sucked. Usually its well in the 7's. Next two runs I only had first gear, so I did a 10.4 at like 20 mph. All 60fts were 1.8 or 1.9. Even startin in 2nd. I really need to fix that thing, this is gettin old.

My first race was actually a highway race with like 5 other cars. I was driving my '01 accord v6 from Baltimore down to DC, and my friend had fallen asleep in my front passenger seat. I was driving slowly, until I saw those 5 cars coming up FAST from behind me... just headlights approaching fast. I decided to put the pedal down, and see what my 200hp V6 could do. (my previous car was a '87 plymouth horizon auto) To my surprise, I caught and passed every single one of them going 110mph. It was dark, so I couldn't tell what all the other cars were, but I noticed a civic, and a lexus sc300. The funny thing is my friend slept through the entire race, and wouldn't believe me about it later.

I had an 86GT with a ton of mods, got spanked by a friends 97 Camaro with nothin but exhaust on. Heh, the Camaro was even an automatic... At that point I realized life wasn't fair, but oh well, I would never (In my right mind) own a Camaro, some things you gotta deal with

Mine was a 64ss nova with a 427/400 turbo 4:56 gears worked 2 years on building it at school... thought I was the sh!t so I jumped on one of the big boys...guy pulled me about 4 cars out the whole and he never looked back I lost it by about 5-6 cars....guy had one of those family cars the dodge R/T with the lil ole 426 hemi.hell I was only 16*L*took alot of sh!t that day but the guys accepted me as one of there own..

Mine was actually weird the way it happened. I was in my 1992 GT 5.0, on my way to the drag strip to race a guy from school in a Civic that had been talking a bunch of smack about his car outrunning mine, you know, the usual "ricer" talk. As hard as this may be to believe, I got stopped by a red light on the way to the strip. A few moments later, believe it or not, the guy in the Civic pulled up next to me. I couldn't believe what was happening!!! lol He called over to me, and said, "Let's see what they'll do,right here, right now." I couldn't resist. The light turned, I jumped him way off the light (I'm pretty good on the light ) And I stayed in it until about 60 mph. Needless to say, I was roughly 2-3 car lengths ahead, and still pulling when I finally let off. I slowed down, and as usual, he did his fly by, thinking I was still racing, and I turned around at the next Amoco gas station, and went back home. True story.

Did anyone know that they built a factory supercharged 289 mustang at one point, but most people took the supercharger off for whatever reason and they are amongst the rarest made. News to me, but thats pretty cool. My dad was telling me about that. They must have been pretty quick thought, especially with a drag pack option and all. Im still hoping to build my cobra pretty soon, then it will be on. By buddy just built his up and I helped, you can be cruisin in 3rd and get on it and the back end will rip around like your in 1st. Nuts. The thing only weights 1500 or so lbs! He raced a vet and took it. Thats something to say for the guys at Factory Five for putting together an impressive kit.

Yeaha Tbucket with a blown 427 and about 860 hp is an awe inspiring thing. Oh yes, you just dont know what that is like to get waxed that bad...lol. Even an 11 sec car goin agaisnt a 9 or 8 second car. Its like why bother.. Imagine he is done with the 1/4 when you arent even to the 1/8 mile marker. Thats what happens when you line up a 13 sec car with a fast car (like 8's) It looks like you just lost by FOREVER!

My first and only race in my 94 mustang gt 5 spd to date was about 2 months ago. This was when the only mods I had were taylor pro 409 wires, flows, and a k&n. I raced a 96 gt 5 spd with bbk cold air, flows, 3.73's, headers and h pipe. keep in mind mine was just about bone stock. I ran a 10.20@69.4 mph and he ran a 10.489@71 mph. I had one of the best r/t's of my life. I wish I could find the time slip because it was awesome. He spun a bit and I hooked like the beeyotch turning tricks on the corner of main street. Oh yeah, this is 1/8th mile and it was hot and sticky/muggy out so I wasnt expecting better times than 10's.
Yeah, I know the feeling about hot weather. I'm stock, and the best 1/8 times I got in the fall was 9.7... last time I went Aug. 8th, I could barely get a 9.9. I was trapping 74+ mph in the fall, but was struggling to break 72mph in the summer.
