I'm not looking to spend a fortune, plus I'm not the type to want other people to hear me coming down the street. I listen to mostly rock, and some rap when I'm feeling...off color? Well anyway, I know I'm not going to get JL or Kicker quality, but have any of you had experience or heard these Visonik sub packages? They are about $120, complete with two 10" subs, sub box, amplifier, and installation kit. Do you think these are going to total pieces of crap, or be pretty good for what I want.

Just a little bit more info, the sound system that came with my '02 Mustang sounds great, but there just isn't enough bass for me, but I don't want that $1000- $2000 sound which you hear a mile away. I just want a little bit of bass for me, not to show off.

Here is the package, but its cheaper at Pep Boys. There is also a 1000 watt package for like $10 or $20 more.

I know someone that bought a Visonik package off eBay. Had a "2000" watt amp and 2 15" woofers. And it was pretty weak. You honestly could have bought one of those Dual systems from Best Buy and been alot better off.

Well I would expect a "2000" watt amp and two 15" subs to sound like crap, it's just too overpowering for one amp and two 15"s.

He might have broken them in wrong too.

My friend has the package I am looking at, but I can't really take his word for it when he says they are "great" because he is the type to say his stuff is the best. You know the type, "oh I got this for $100 and it sounds better than anything you can get  for $1000"..also... "yeah well your other friend is a fag because his parents bought him his car and I'm paying for all my stuff on my own"

That was more or less a rant.

I thought crutchfield had a descent deal on a kenwood amp and subs.  I would but a descent single 10-12 and a small amp to push it before buying 2 cheap subs and a cheap amp to push them.   You get what you pay for in car audio.  You can always upgrade and add another sub later if you have the cash, but when they both stop working you will need to replace more...

As for the visonik kit sounding better than a $1000 system...hell no.I have installed a few of the visonik kits,I would not use the wiring that comes in the kit.If your only looking at spending 100 bux and not looking for something loud get the visoniks. They dont sound that bad for the $$

I bought the visonik kit from pep boys that had the single 10 and amp. Fry's was marking it down to $20 so I said what the heck. The amp is now powering my sisters kicker cvr (I had a more powerful amp in it) and the sub is awaiting use as a home theatre sub or maybe in the wifes beemer. I now have a complete stereo ready to go in my mustang when it finally runs. After the money is available, bye bye visonik

Overall the stuff is pretty crappy, and you could build a better setup for around $150 dollars, but do whatever makes you happy.
