There is more than just a tire in the trunk Bro!LOL!I would say a good 60-70lbs can come out of the trunk.....See for yourself.

My friend just bought a new SuperBee which puts on 425 hp. He has less than 1000 miles right now so he's afraid to let 'er rip. Hopefully he'll be ready after I put some 4.10s and UDPs on.
is it me or is that alot of hp?? I wish you the best
Yeah its alot of HP alright...Alot of weight too! When I first bought my 06GT I did some weight reduction on the car for its first MODS.Did the basics, removed EVERYTHING from the trunk & removed a few other things that were in excess IMO of course. All together I dropped about 200lbs!Anyways,I ran into an SRT8 Charger & smoked him bad! With nothing but a weight reduction!
What do you mean? You took the SPare out?
Please list everything you removed. Spare tire, jack....

There's a guy at my work who has one of those Daytona Chargers. Trust me, it ain't nothin'. It's an okay car, I guess, but I've killed the guy at least half a dozen times so far. The owner's one of those over-pumped ego types who thinks he's God's gift. Every time we match up on the main road out here, he acts all superior, like he's a pro racer and I'm some wannabe ricer. After my car eats his, he gets really pissed, like I insulted him. You can almost hear him yelling "Just who do you think you are!" Ha! Cracks me up every time. Maybe next time I'll roll down the window and ask for some mustard. lol
I could see the charger, and gto getting beat by a mustang. I've done it myself! What gm and dodge owners don't realize is power to weight ratio. sure there running much more horses, but they are hauling 4000 lbs. For every extra hundred pounds they are losing about 10 or 20 horses

You are right in principle, but I think a lot of people over estimate the extra weight of those cars. I want to break down the numbers for everyone.
S197 Mustang GT Power: 300 bhp Weight: 3560 lbs Power to weight ratio: 11.86lbs/hp
LS2 GTO Power: 400 bhp Weight 3725 lbs Power to weight ratio: 9.31 lbs/hp
Charger SRT-8 Power: 425 bhp Weight: 4160 lbs Power to wieght ratio: 9.78 lbs/hp
Charger R/T Power: 340 hp Weight: 4031 lbs Power to wieght ratio: 11.86 lbs/hp
The numbers will show you that while all these cars are heavier, they have all the power they need to make up for that weight and then some. Hence LS2 GTOs and SRT-8s are low 13s stock, and the Mustang GT is mid 13s stock.
Power to weight is not everything of course. Take for instance the Charger R/T. That car has an identical power to weight ratio as the Mustang GT, but the Mustang GT is clearly faster. The reason for that is mostly because the Charger R/T isn't geared as well as the Mustang GT (the R/T only has a 2.82:1 final drive), and only comes with a slushbox auto tranny. Swapping out just the rear gears on a Charger R/T would go a long way to make it compete directly with a Mustang GT in acceleration.
Again, despite the extra weight of the LS2 GTO, it has a far better power-to-weight than the Mustang GT. Here is another way of looking at it, the GTO weighs ONLY 4.6% more than the Mustang GT, but makes 33% more power. However, it is my belief that the reason many GTOs fail to beat Mustangs is because of the stock tires. GTOs come with either a 245/45-17 or a 235/40-18 from the factory. If you thought a 235/55-17 was narrow as hell on a 320ft-lbs Mustang GT, imagine a 235 or 245 tire on 400 ft-lbs! Thus, traction is more of a factor for the GTO than the Mustang which is why I think it isn't uncommon for Mustangs to beat GTOs. Nailing the launch with a GTO is much harder.
Similar factors occur with the SRT-8 which weighs 17% more than the Mustang GT, but makes 41% more power.
Finally if I am not mistaken, the Daytona Charger is just a Charger R/T with a paint job and some kind of engine tweak that gives it an extra 10hp or something. So I don't think there is anything really significant about the Charger Daytonas.

i knew ud beat any charger, even a nicely tuned mustang will beat an SRT-8. if u look on dodges website it says the srt-8 goes 0-60 in about 5 seconds (same as a stock stang approx.) and runs the quarter in the 13 sec. range (again approx. the same as a stock stang). CAI and a tune and there shouldnt be a camaro, gto, or charger to beat you...when i first got mine, i put on a C&L racer intake and a 93 octane tune, my first race was against a LS2 GTO w/ 400HP, beat him good
Yeah, those tunes really bring the car to life. When I got mine, It was amazing how much room there was to improve. Added the 4.10's on top of it, and It feels crazy. I can't wait for the big mods this summer.
