I searched on 275's and it seems as though many people run 275's all the way around. I was really wanting to do 315/255 on 10" and 9" wheels respectively. However, I don't like my tire selection at 315 so I was thinking about running 275's all the way around and hope that's enough meat in the rear to handle the horsepower. Staying the same size will also allow me to rotate them too I guess.

How do those with 275's front and rear like the handling and traction of them?

Should I run 17's or 18's?

Is 9" the right size for 275's or do I need 10" wheels?

TIA!

I have 275's all around and it feels better then when i had 245's all around. Plus it looks sweet. And i dnt have any clearance problems in the fron. And i have 18'9's for all 4 wheels and they look awesome. And yes 275's will fit on 9 inch wides

Is that thing lowered at all? The front wells look too full and the rears not full enough. Maybe if it were a little lower it might look different. I just can't find the tires I want in the size I want. They have 275's in both 17" and 18" though.

275's all around going to change to 315's in the rear this spring, but for no other reason than looks.  the ride now is wonderful follows the ruts in the road a bit but doesn't take a minute to get used to it.  9 in rim is what is recommended for the 275/40 17

I put 275/45/18 on the front and 395/35/18 on the back on my daughters car.
The only problem is rotating the tires. You have to take them off the rim and switch sides.
Waste of $30.00 .
get the same size tire rim so you can rotate them.

I'll take a close up of the tires and numbers when she gets home from school today.

The wife and daughter went out of town, After thinking about it, The 395 is most likely 295 but the rest is what is on the car.  395 was a bit much.  I know its something 95 and 3 seems to big, it must be 295, soon as they get back I'll take pictures.

Boy was I wrong
Daughters car has the biggest wheels/tires we could put on her car.
Front 245/40/18
Rear 285/35/18
I don't know what the would come out to in a 17
Boy do I feel dumb

Dont feel dumb... there are lots of people on this forum that say things that are WAY more stupid... In fact, im not even sure my grammar on that last statement was correct!

But anyway.... atleast you know now

And as for the 275/40/17's all the way around newb2000gt
check these out

You will be looking at about $500 worth of high quality rubber...

The ZR in the tire size doen't tell the whole story
For instance a BF tire that says 205/45ZR17  just means the tire is good for over 149 mph, It lacks a actual speed rating like 205/45ZR17 88W, the 88 is for the load index, 88 is 1235 lbs and theW is the speed rating W is 168 mph.  Although the ZR is a good rule of thumb the actual letter is better.

Actually, I can get Bridgestone tires at cost and the RE960AS Pole Position tires come in 275's. I need the wet/dry/snow performance of these things as I use my DD even in the crap we got yesterday - several inches of snow. I'm still on the fence and am still leaning towards 315/275 on 17" wheels. 18" tires are just so expensive...

if you plan on driving the car in any kind of snowy conditions, you should DEFINITLY avoid running 315's... they will do nothing but KILL your traction
