I have the MSD Superconducter 8.5 wires and Double Platinum Autolites. I get a misfire every once in awhile and plan on using Denso Iridiums at the next oil change. Live Wires also makes a good set but they will cost you around $130 and the Denso's will be about $90.

Antirice, did you get some nice coils??? Because the coil packs on 96-98 SUCK. My dads car had a NASTY misfire and got a code for random misfire. I replaced wires with TAYLOR race wires, and put NGK iridums in it. But still slightly there. So i called up Brothers performance and ordered some MSD coil packs and it ran/runs like a dream now. No skip anywhere. So if youre planning on going with plugs and wires, just pay alittle more and get new packs. I personally run Screaming Demon coil, wires in my GT. They picked up .2 in the quarter. I have screaming demon coil packs and 10mm livewires. Its a kit and run me about 300. you can get them for Cobra's as well. I run some NKG's in mine as well. But they have to go because of my Nitrous. But do alittle research on coils and wires before you go anywhere and buy what You like.

Casper,
I haven't changed out the coil packs yet, missed a killer deal on some MSD on EBAY about a month ago. I too have gotten that code (twice actually), my check engine light would blink when I started the car and it would idle like it was going to die missing rapidly. I turned the car off, turned it back on and drove for probably a month before it happened again. I haven't had it happen for about 3 months, but my car is doing a wierd thing now, throwing the code for IAC (O2 sensors or the actual IAC?) and it hesitates in the lower rpm's, especially at startup in the cold, until it warms up it won't let me rev past 3250, it just sticks. I'm changing the packs soon though, have any idea what my new problem could be?

Yeah try the IAC, and maybe some dry gas. And yeah the coil packs are pretty much always junk on these.
