Just picked up a 98 cobra?

I've got a 96 cobra and don't have a button above the rear window defroster. All that is above mine is the headlight knob, maybe previous owner installed some lighting or stereo switch, possibly something to do with nitrous? I have a black button that goes back and forth horizontally right under my cd player in the little shifter area and I have no idea what that does. I'd just say push it and see what happens, otherwise I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah its between the rear def. and the headlight knob. It looks factory and has a little light that lights up in teh button. I hit it nothing happens. could it be traction control???

No, traction control was not an available option on the 96-98 cobras as far as I know. My def has a button that lights up but obviously its not the defrost so............good luck finding out what it is. Do you happen to have the button I was talking about in on the little shifter bezel below the cd player on the center console?

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT KEEP PUSHING IT! It is a limited edition methanol injection system for the '98 cobra year.

Not, it is for the alarm!!!! I have one too, I will get a pic so you can let us know if they look the same, but i am sure that it is just for the alarm. Its a dealer installed option, on my car it piggy backs the keyless entry. Basically it upgrades the standard anti-theft in the car. It allows for the use of a vibration sensor and an ignition cut-off if the alarm is ever sounded.

Well I traced it and it goes to nothing.. So its just a switch that was installed for an accessory
