Default Why do my 1/4 times suck so badly?

Hey everyone. Went to the track last saturday and made 3 passes but only found 2 slips.Ok lets start off with my mods, they aren't much but here goes:

K&N cone filter, Aluminum intake piping, COBRA EFI manifold, 160*t-stat, 3'thick steel radiator, (2) 12' E-fans 1200cfm's each, SFI balancer
MSD cap, MSD rotor, MSD TFI coil, Taylor 8mm wires, Accell plugs, ZOOM clutch, PRO 5OH! shifter, 3.5qts. amsoil ATF, 3.73 gears in rear end (stock locking unit), 17x8 5spoke 4lug cobra wheels, Crappy 245/45/17 tires, some off brand, 13* timing, 93 octane.

Now here's run #1
R/T... .258
60... 2.351
330... 6.595
1/8... 10.129
MPH... 70.02
1000... 13.154
1/4... 15.732
MPH... 86.02

RUN #2:
R/T...... .418
60....... 2.485
330..... 6.749
1/8...... 10.285
MPH... 70.06
1000... 13.330
1/4...... 15.913
MPH... 87.10

Now those times are true and real. Car #664. I can scan the slips if you guys want and I got a pic with the number on the car, but why would I lie about being slow when it's true?

On the street 1st, 2nd, 3rd I can take an LS1 by a fender and a half but when we hit fourth he walks me. My car is a 5speed, and at the track I'm launching at 2krpms. When I let out the clutch and stick the gas, it chirps and then goes. Should I try a higher rev when I launch? Everyone says with those mods should be a hi 13 low 14 at least. However I cant get a hi 14 out of it. What am I doing wrong? Why is my 5.0 really a 5.slow?

Should I get somestickier tires, or get2 stock 14x?? 4lug rims with like a 25x8x15 slick just for the track? Should I run more timing? How much? I use premium fuel (93oct.) from shell or BP.

What RPMare you shifting at?

Theres definately something wrong with those times. My car with a few bolt ons, 2.73 gears, an AOD and junk tires ran 15.3.

well for starters... track racing takes practice. Your reaction times are horrible, but for test and tune, it doesnt matter.

Your 60' times SUCK

Your probably shifting too high. If you shift past 5100rpms' your just wasting time...

Get some drag radials and LAUNCH that ****er!

Bad track conditions, moist air, hot motor, could be lots of things. Driver mod maybe....I dont see anything their that would add any big power though...Not enough to get you into the 13's anyway.

Put the right thermostat back in too, that **** dont work on EFI cars. Its just going to make it run richer and crappier.
