Don't know what to tell ya since this is first 2004 camaro I've heard of but a 2002 SS will be a tough race unless your well heeled under optimal conditions. I've known of stock S197 GTs to run low 13s but I can't say I'm one of them.

HAHAHA Ok, I know nothing about camaros. I could've sworn I heard 2004, but it was something in the 2000's.

But anyways, I know for a fact it was a 2000 something camaro SS.

If it is a 2002 Camaro SS, then ok.........

STOCK 2002 Camaro 325 HP > STOCK 2006 Mustang GT 300 HP
STOCK               0-60 5.2 sec  < STOCK    0-60 5.0 sec
STOCK      1/4 mile ET 13.49   > STOCK    1/4 mile ET 13.7
curb weight 3411 lb.    >  curb weight (5 spd) 3673 lb.

BUT....................................................WE ALL KNOW ITS ALL ABOUT THE DRIVER, SO IF YOU CAN DRIVE AND HE ISN'T THE GREATEST, THEN YOU'LL TAKE HIM!

I've got a friend who had a 2002 Pontiac Firebird (330hp / 350 ft lbs torque) run a 13.4 stock.
Crappy stock 17's for street tires as well.

Stock auto LS1s run mid 13s, and a well driven 6 speed can run a low 13. I've heard of a stock 6 speed on DRs that ran a high 12. So w/ equal drivers, the SS will win. And please for the love of god, do not race from a roll- it will rape you.

Stock for stock if its a 6 speed it will win every time with all drivers being equal, With my mods its still neck and neck from a roll. at the track I can beat em but just barely.

I raced a 2000 or so SS on the highway, both doing 65 and dropped the hammer, we basically ran dead even till i starting edging him around 110 then he dropped off,  but I might have been in trouble if he had held on.  Camaros are tough, especially the last SS models.

you read to brochure that camaro rated 325hp, but did you know 01-02 models put down 315rwhp and stang put down 270rwhp and heavier? also who said stang is 13.7 STOCK? and WHO said 02 camaro is 13.4 STOCK? that camaro with an AVARGE driver will hit 13.1 with good driver, definetely high 12s. stang will hit 13.7s with an avarage driver and 13.3-13.5 with good driver.

about this thread.... sadly that camaro will beat you unless he miss shifts! they are simply faster cars.. oh well.. go from a dig all the time because you got a chance to be on his neck untill 70mph then he will walk away..

EDIT: even autos will walk away from stock 5-speed manual GT. i am not a bad driver at all and i raced an 01 camaro z28 auto once and i definetely out launched on him.. i was a car ahead and i kept it that way just a little but that b*tch slowly came to me and slowly passed me at around 90ishmph. and i raced a manual one once it was 99 z28 and i beat him but it was a short race, i didnt shift to 3rd.

i seriously call BS to this that you having edge on an LS1 at 110mph.. thats where they pull like a b*tch.. everyone knows it.. (unless the driver somehow sucked.) also SS models are EXCATLY the same as Z28s.. NO performance difference..

I know awhile back horsepower TV had a stock 2000 SS, i think 100K miles and it still put 300HP to the wheels on their dyno. Stock for Stock, the SS will when, unless he's doesn't know how to drive it. You modded and it stock, you'll get him and yes they do alot better on top end, the ram air helps alittle there to keep it breathing.
Also a Z28 and SS are different, The Z is crap and the SS is a poor mans Corvette, haha.

other then doodad, i have yet to see someone run less then 13.7

i have seen low 13s and even high 12s from STOCK LS1 cars

yes LS1s are rated at 305 HP, to bad they put down more then that to the rear wheels

a 6 speed would win due to their 3.42 gears, an auto, if geared equally would flat out rape you, GMs 4L60E autos are faster then their 6speeds with equal gearing
