Saleen 100: Do us all a favor and go back to school and take a english writing class, then get back to us when you can put together a understandable sentence. Then you group together these sentences into what is called a paragraph.

Nah, still piss poor grammar I know its a forum, but there IS such thing as etiquette when communicating via email and other web forms - and it follows the same grammar lessons that we all learned way (or not-so way) back in elementary school
So I emailed the seller and asked the following questions "if the last service was in 06, why is the car for sale now in 08? What was done to fix the car?" This is the response:
"THIS CAR WAS A MANUFACTURES BUYBACK DUE TO A NO STARTING ISSUE THAT HAS SINCE BEEN FIXED WITH A SIMPLE NEW BATTERY AND REPROGRAMMING OF THE CONTROL MODULE. I DO HAVE ALL OF THE BUYBACK PAPERS FROM FORD MOTOR CREDIT STATING THIS. THE IN SERVICE DATE WAS 8/25/2006. THE CAR WAS SITTING IN STORAGE AND OWNED BY A COLLECTOR. LACK OF USE CAUSED THE NO START ISSUE AND ONCE AGAIN I DO HAVE ALL OF THE PAPERS FROM FORD PROVING THIS. "
So in IMO, the problem was never fixed. I feel sorry for the person who will be buying this car.So in IMO, the problem was never fixed. I feel sorry for the person who will be buying this car.

You're probably right, but wasn't the owner refusing to try the simple remedy of turning off the radio before turning off the ignition? My car drained the battery a couple times the first year I owned it when I let it sit for a week or more. Ever since adopting the easy habit of turning off the stereo before pulling out the key, however, I have had no hint of this issue, even after storing it unused for weeks. There may be a more elegant fix for this, and yes in a perfect world it shouldn't happen in the first place, but it is the kind of little thing that sometimes happens in early model years of a car and it doesn't even bother me enough to pursue it with the dealer.

I've found, to my regret, that vehicles, today, have so many drains on the battery that failing to turn off the radio or failing to remove the key, from the ignition, will quickly drain the battery. Therefore, I've had to change my old habits.
Amy - that is funny... I didnt even realize I did that.
The seller sent me another email with the Ford buyback papers. From these papers, the car was fixed on March 6th, 2008 where the battery was replaced and the PCM was reprogrammed. Infact, he says there is 1 year/12,000 mile on the car now too.
That could be a pretty good deal if the problem has been corrected.

So apparently the OP and original owner of this car went through all of this legal mumbo jumbo just because he refused to listen to everyone in here?
Todays vehicles cannot just sit without drain issues. Number 1 issue is the radio system, but by turning it OFF prior to removing the key can solve most issues. It works in my Saleen, and it also works on my dads 2000 C5 Vette.

$48,500 for an E (w/ the built motor) with less than 2k miles AND a 1 year warranty is a steal. Too bad I'm not a big fan of the way our cars look in black, otherwise I'd trade in my car for it.

The Waranty is expired...
Not according to the two images in Abbas's post above. The original Saleen warranty expired long ago. But from the documents Abbas posted, it appears a new "Reacquired Vehicle" limited 12-month warranty went into effect on or about March 6, 2008.

Hey! What are you trying to say!
Sorry, Mickey. I should have qualified my comment by noting that I meant no offense to the black Saleen owners (er, I mean, the owners of black Saleens). I just think black paint jobs sometimes hide the beautiful lines of these (or any nicely designed) cars. I will say that Saleens in black look a bit more menacing, which is cool...
At the risk of going into left field again.... Poor grounding can cause battery drain -- this I know. I had a problem about 20 yrs ago that involved battery drain and grounding and the radio. I don't remember much about it, but it seems that a ground wire was attached to the same post as the radio or something like that? Just a thought. Don't make fun of me this time, please

48,500 is a steal, until the new buyer goes to sell it, or has to sell it.
Typically a "maunfacturerers buyback" wll lose 40-50% of its current retail value. So in actuality, being a 2006 model, that car is only worth 30-35k right now. Plus the buyback stigma is about the same as a salvage title. Its a shame, but its just the way it is.
On a side note- I don't see how Ford could have been coerced into buying back a 75K car because of a simple dead battery and reprogramming issue. There had to be other things going on here, too.
Now for someone planning to keep it......
