Default BOV noise?

Going down a 5 lane road yesterday I get besied an Eclipse with some bling bling wheels and a fart cannon. Well, prior to this moment, this guy is fighting to get anywhere near me, I can see him bob and weeve in the rear view and the whole time I'm thinking, "here comes a stunna." Sure enough we finally get side by side and I look over. I spy a painted interior and a young kid with his hat turned sideways staring me down. We take off behind a couple of cars and I hear this godawful whooosh sound from his car. Me, "can it be? An actual turbo on this POS?" Anyway, he keeps pacing me and pacing me, continually pulling infront and then slowing back down, only to gun it again and get back infront of me, letting me hear this godawful noise over and over again. This whole time I had the cruise set at 52'ish mph, which is perfect for a roll race for my car. Finally I reach out and motion for him to come get some, he obliges. To my agony I hear the fart cannon warm up, but before much more of that noise enters my head, my car downshifts to 2nd, slight squat and chirp of the tires, and I put nearly a train on him to 90mph. My question, is there a fake BOV? Could it have been any other noise? I know a simple CAI when I hear one, this wasn't it. It sounded like a BOV but it was a much more horrific queef noise. Any input?

Also could have been a GS-T is it? They made four banger turbos I think. I have raced a few and they were all jokes.

God I hope it was fake. I've only ran one turbo 4 banger and it was pretty ugly. If this Eclipse did indeed have a turbo....that would make 2 I've ran and it was even uglier than the first one.
