the WS6 might have the 3.73 gears, if so, no chance on short run. long run, LT1 has way too much power over 4.6. Stock vs. stock, anyway. If both have bolt-ons, the LT1 still overpowers the 4.6 due to cubes and TQ.
Might have 3:73's? check his post, says nothing about that. Are we being hypothetical? If so, a 98 cobra with a 03 cobra motor swap, kenne bell blower that has been gutted might have a chance against a basically stock 97 WS6, but probably not. A cobra could never beat a WS6, I don't do it all the time..........................................lol
Hey STK, have you raced the WS6 yet? I'm curious as to how you did. Stoplight to stoplight, if I hold at about 2 grand and feather the clutch goodbye WS6, I don't usually take it past the speed limit though on a public road but top end I've been beat when my car was completely stock. Oh, and the difference in horsepower on a 97 WS6 and 98 Cobra is I think? 320 to 305 or a 99 cobra's power compared to a 96-98 cobra. The WS6 claims 0-60 in 5.7 and the Cobra in 5.9, with the 3:73s you should be good to go. I'm pretty sure that motortrend tested a 96 cobra vs. WS6 vs. Z28 and the Z28 won by a tenth, followed by the cobra who beat the WS6 by a tenth. The WS6 won't "smoke you" because of its torque and cubes (read above), it is fatter and isn't exactly killing you in the power department. Later

I agree with the "won't smoke part. The 2 are very close in comparison for final numbers. As for the 3.73 part. some, few, WS6's came with 3.73 rears. This race will dwindle on driver ability. One Shot, One Kill.
Here you go STK, this is a Car and Driver test from 96, the Cobra vs. SS Camaro vs. Firebird WS6. I know its not 98 cobra vs. 97 WS6 but they are basically the same cars. http://www.stangbangers.com/96_Cobra...rd_Article.htm

Haha, I love it. He took the heavier SS and ran .4 seconds faster than a car with the identical drivetrain. WTF?
C/D got the SS to 13.6 @ 106....that's gettin r dun.
Mustang had a good showing also, 14 flat. That's right on par with what I was figuring.
That's perfect. For the Mustang it's the grown up pony car for mature hot rodders. For the Camaro, if muscle is what you're after, look no further. Boy-racer engine sounds. I love it.
