2000 camaro vs 2001 mustang
i have a 2001 auto stang and my friends got the 2000 auto camaro...both are 3.8...
which would win if the camaro has cold air intake, a racing chip ($200) and an exhaust?
my stang would have SCT X cal 2 with 3.73's and cold air intake along with an exhaust
which would win?!?!?!

RE: 2000 camaro vs 2001 mustang
camaro should be capable of high 14s if he knows how to drive, he will win
4l60-E > any 5 speed > 4R70W

Sorry dude, but you'll probably loose unless he sucks at driving. Now there is a little secret to that auto called the D-2-D shifting technique, and I'll let mustangman or cobra232 eplain that one a little more in depth.

RE: 2000 camaro vs 2001 mustang
pull the shifter back from D to the 2 position near about 200 rpms before where the tranny shifts at WOT, make sure TC is off if you have it or it will engague and bog, it will knock about .2 off but not enough

dont waste your time shifting manually with an auto, dosnt do anything.
I raced my buddy's 98 firebird with CAI and T/A takeoffs. I only had CAI
he beat my from a stop. but i didnt load the rear end and Trac Control was on.
from a 40mph roll 'til 80mph i had him by 1/2 car.
gl, let us know!

RE: 2000 camaro vs 2001 mustang
maybe you will be about to race and he will realize he has his windows up and he wants to put them down so he trys to push the buttons to make them go down and they wont go down so he will be trying to get them to go down and hell get a late start becuaes he wasnt payin attention. (4th gen camaros have power window problems, the motor likes to go out.)

but its not really gonna improve your time that much. if you do it perfectly it will improve just a tiny bit but its not gonna help THAT much.

It doesnt quicken anything, however it DOES firm up and quicken shifts, call it the poor mans shift kit if you will. It does help, slightly but it does.
