Alot of rumors out for every 2005 model ford. We all really dont know what to expect yet. It would be awesome to have a 500hp lightning. But i doubt ford will outdue their gt40. If anything the gt40 should have the most hp out of any ford. And do ya'll think 300hp is enough for a 2005 GT? The new mach 1's have 300 and have been known to hit mid to high 13's stock. Lets just hope the 2005 aint heavier then the current mach 1's. I cant wait for the '05s to come out. It seems every company especially imports and euros have been coming out with all these new advancements and domestics are kinda falling behind. I just hope the 05's will be what everyone cuts em out to be.

i definately agree wit you chrisle7220. domestics are falling behind but the only company trying to catch up is ford. thats y ford is so awesome. a new variable valve timing is in the works for fords and maybe introduced to the new cobras coming up. with variable valve timing the horsepower output will be incredible. if ford can match honda's i-vetec or toyotas vvtL-i which are by the way making 100hp per litre we would have a 5.0 that makes 500hp, hopefully. in an article i read, ford was going to buy out general motors in the begininng of this year due to the decline of its sports compact and sports cars. but gm stepped up the marketing on its great line of suvs. soon, i believe, ford will be on the top and have unlimited potential. all i gotta say is, "bring on the falcon!" lets see what they have up their sleves.

I read somewhere that the 2004 GT is estimated around 300 hp and the cobra will have about 400hp. I also heard some rumors that a Mach 1 is suppose to be produced and estimated at about 320 hp.
Yeah i really hope they come out with a nice and affordable 2005 SVT Cobra. As much as i like the stang, i hate it when i see everyone and their mom in either a  v6 or GT. Every 1 out of 10 cars is a mustang here in san antonio, texas. And i know when the new "05 comes out, everyone will have one. I like to be different. And i will go the extra mile to get an '05 Cobra. But as of right now, im set on getting an '03 Cobra first!!
What do you expect?

Listen when chevy stopped making the camaroe that was IT......... Ford has no compitition for the rear wheel drive Market Chevy doenst even make a Crown Vic type Rear wheel drive so what are police buying Crown Victoria's What are mid 30's Moms buying now that Junior is the Fluk out of the House a drop top Mustang like she had when she was in college. Dad has the more sporty GT So what I am 37 I have a V-6 Corner Carver and a 91 Lx 351 Convertable Drag Car.

So whats your point?

Jenevieve, i say you get back to English class and get your grammer right. All im trying to say is that i want to buy a car thats rare, where as mustangs arent rare. I want to be one of the few that owns it. I know damn well that when the '05 stangs come out, everyone will have one, both GT and v6. Thats why i plan on getting an '03 cobra. Thats all im trying to say.

Okay, well the Mustang is going to be here in 2005. Back at a Mustang Car Show my brother and I hosted in Roanoke, Va last May, we had the 05 Concept Convertible out there with us. It's a beatiful car. They're taking out the backseats so it will just be a 2 seater, which is different. Some people may like it, some may not. We also had the Concept Fastback out there and it's gorgous! You guys will not believe what you're seeing once you see the 2005 Mustang. It's awesome!

I don't believe anyone has forgotten about the new GTO. I mean with the Z28 & Trans-AM gone it is good to have another American muscle car out there to put the imports in the place; in our rear view mirror. As for it being competition for Ford, I don't see that one car be much comp. It can't touch the Cobra and all the of the other model mustangs aren't too far behind when it comes to power. I think it will sell ok mostly because of the "GTO" name. Yes it has 350hp, but it looks like a Grand Pix to me. It may be more cometition in about a year when the aftermarket comes out with some goodies for it. First and foremost being dual exhaust. I hate that it doesn't have dual exhaust. It will be nice to see what happens when they put it head to head with the 04 Cobra next year in Motor Trend, Car & Driver and all the other car mags out there.
