I just ran into some luck, and got this car. I'm just looking for some simple answers. I hear these cars make stupid power w/ little effort. So im wondering how much I could gain from a pulley, intake, exhaust, and a tune? Also, does anyone know how much power these cars really make stock? I hear 390, but i keep hearing that its underrated. Thanks!!

The guys over at svt performance.com  answered the same question for me. Stock 03/04 Cobra are being dyno'ed at 405-415 hp. With the mods your talking about you'll be in the 475-500 to the wheels. I'm planning on doing the same mods myself!

That's 03/04 Cobra motors dynoed as flywheel horsepower isn't it.....not rear-wheel horsepower.

The wheels are being dyno'd at 360-375 range. I'll let you know shortly. I have some bolt-ons on order, but before there put on I'm getting it dyno'd first. I want to see my numbers from the start till I'm done modding it!

Most will put on 360 to 380 some seam to be a little higher. Mine was 387.7 HP with only a K&N air filter (not FIPK) W/ 373.5 Torque. After my mods i had 457.2 Hp with 468.6 Torque

Those are great numbers stock .....your 03/04 Cobras are basically delivering the claimed horsepower to the rear wheels.  With the 15% loss through the tranny, your motor numbers must be well over 400!

the numbers were higher than i thought they would be but the air filter gave it a little extra so i was pretty close to the normal range, and these car are very underrated. Im gonna get my SC ported and a lower pulley and get close to 500 rwhp

You should have about 440-460 to the wheels after those mods.  Don't forget to upgrade the heat exchanger and get a good tune or you will be buying a motor soon.

Ok will do! I see you have a stage 4 ported eaton. I am really curious to know why you decided to port the eaton instead of getting a new blower?

Major price difference.....getting the eaton ported is about a 5th the price of getting a new blower

Porting the eaton vs. the whipple or KB is a huge difference in price.  But, you still wont get as good as performance with a ported Eaton vs. the other two.  With a few bolt-ons + a ported eaton and pulley, you could be right at or over 500 rwhp.  With the 2.3L Whipple for example with a 3.5 pulley and a few bolt-ons will be over 520 rwph easy.

Nice numbers! I'm interested to see what mine will be. So, how many of you still have wheel hop issues?
