What's the coldest you have ever dropped the top? I've done it a couple nights here in the past month and including tonight.

V-6 is for real drivers. Go buy a Jetta if you want gas mileage and a chicks car. Buy a V-8 Mustang if you have no driving ability and need the extra horsepower to compensate and feel like you''''''''re fast.

I was tempted to drop mine yesterday too especially after seeing SO MANY MOTORCYCLES cruising all over the place! Extra frustrating for me because I stored my bike away over a month ago lol. But, I avoided dropping the top for fear of doing that in such cold weather,, I DON'T wanna risk damaging it & have to replace it any sooner than I have to.
Hey at least our rear passenger windows go DOWN too, and that's something else the Coupe guys can't do SUCKS TO BE A COUPE!

I do a new year cruize when I can and it isn;t snowing. got down to 26 on one of those. Just a little tradition.
and craaaaaazy too.
Puts hair on your chest, and when you ski in that kinda weather all the time you have the right clothing. I only go like 10 miles or so. Just enough to make all the locals say WTF.
Isn't there a recommended temperature when not to put your top down? I thought it was 50-60 degrees. After spending $1,000 replacing a top this summer, my mother is pretty careful about its care.
Here in Tampa I'm more likely to have the top up due to heat (when in business clothes). No rain = top down. It rarely gets below 40*F here, so the top stays down on principle, to the dismay of gawking onlookers. Back in Wash. D.C. Md. area, my friends and I (at least 6 of us) would traditionally drop the top on my '72 LTD conv., wear silly warm hats, light cigars, play funk music and go cruising during the first (at least)real snowfall each year. Those are memories I cherish of a tradition I really don't miss!

I have no heat in my vert. Actually I have no venting ducts behind the dash because of the cage. I will drop the top if it is above 50. Other then that I have to rely on the heat coming from the trans and motor to keep me warm. It kinda sucks.

If you put the top down when it's below the recommended temps, you are cutting the life expectancy of your top. I have been told they normally last 5-7 years if taken care of. More if they are garaged.
Good question. I am clueless if it does affect the material or not. Of course, I would think it will under extreme low temps, but heck...didn't I just saw a penguin driving a vert? No, sorry. I was wrong. It was one of you guys who go topless with the temp is under 50! Yeap, call me thin skin or whatever.
