What are recommended temps?  How does the cold adversely affect the top?

According to the brochure on vinyl tops by Electron, it states that it is not advisable to lower the top when temperatures are below 50 degrees.  The reason is because the material is rigid.

FYI, it also states that vinyl material has a top coating and if it's destroyed, the ability to keep it clean is reduced.  Products that are petroleum based do this and creates a sticky film that attracts dirt.

Every time I see someone cruising with their top down I think that it is someone who just got their car and
couldnt wait until summer to try it out

V-6 is for real drivers. Go buy a Jetta if you want gas mileage and a chicks car. Buy a V-8 Mustang if you have no driving ability and need the extra horsepower to compensate and feel like you''''''''re fast.

yup.  The heater's usually on full blast (to the floor) when I'm driving topless if its a little chilly outside.

If you put the top down when it's below the recommended temps, you are cutting the life expectancy of your top.  I have been told they normally last 5-7 years if taken care of.  More if they are garaged.

little longer then that, my grandfather had a 66 buick vert, top was replaced once in 1984
