Default starting issues

I got the AOD pulled and the ne C4 istalled, everythings back together but I'm having problems starting it. I checked for current, and the positive battery cable to the soleniod has current, but not were the cable goes down to the starter, thinking it may have gone bad, I replaced it with a new one, same result,(still didn't start)what's going on, I know I have everything hooked up right, and if I touch the started cable to the lead in side of the soleniod the car will start, but not when I turn the key, help please.
