I have just bought a 1992 Mustang Lx and the only thing that isn't working on it is the power door locks. I have checked fuses under the dash and all seem to be good. I have been told that it might be the actuators, is this the most likely solution? They don't work at all (lock or unlock). Thanks

this are the nit picky things that always go wrong with perfect cars, and frankly...they just suck and theres never an easyu solution. Your prolly going to have to take the door apart and look at the lock...could simply bne jammed or the whole mechanism is f'ed up....i dont know much about cars yet except for these things, because thats whats always gone wrong[:'(]
well thats all i got for ya...good luck

Thanks for the comments and if anyone has others please feel free to post. I guess I will have to dig into it this weekend and see what I come up with. Thanks again
i just had the same problem with my 86. for a little while i could hear the actuators trying to move the locks but they just wernt moving. finally they stopped all together so i pulled off the door panels and tested the switch which was fine. as of right now i have no power locks but i have started to look for some new actuators.

Just yesterday, after 13 years, the pass. side stopped. It is trying to go up or down and with a little push will do so...must be just gunked up or something.
on my stang, the power locks don't work either. they try to go up, almost like a weak nudge but it never get the full shot to unlock, it won't lock either. is this the actuator or ?
I don't know if this is your problem, but this just happened to me the other day... My locks still work, but when i locked my door, the little lock knob got stuck under the door panel (it wasnt going through the hole that it sticks through when it was unlocked). I just had to play with it to get it unstuck.
Well first of all, when you push the lock button do you hear any sounds? Does it sound like its trying to do anything? Also have you thought about a bad switch?
Just wondering
