My hatch doesnt latch - Is this a normal problem???
OK so my biggest problem other than a lil rust on my body is the fact that my hatch doesnt latch. I have slammed the crap out of it and it wont latch. I have adjusted the striker up and it will latch fine but then leak water in if I shoot some water at the hatch area with a hose. It also rattles like a mofo when it has been adjusted. It has a new hatch seal installed correctly, and I am not sure if it is the latch itself or something else causing this problem. I know if I grab onto the hatch when it is latched (striker adjusted up a bit) and give it a good shake/wiggle it will unlatch itself. Thats not exactly cool in my book.
Ideas???
Do I need a new latch mechanism? It looks ok, and doesnt seem all bent up or anything abnormal.

No, I suppose that this would causemy problem. I am assuming that the striker itself is too small from the factory? Why would they do that? Does anyone have a pic of what the striker is supposed to look like so I know what to look for?
