They are both around the same just depends who is driving

I think its pretty safe to say that you just don't know when to stop bumping threads... do you? Avan's numbers could easily be accurate at a different track at higher elevations or poor conditions, as the numbers are proportional to what ALL the other comparison tests come to from ALL the other people that ran them.</P>

Any way ask anyone that works at Shoshop or anywhere and they will tell you that the SVT Contour would need a few upgrades to run low 15s. I luv them but there not that fast. ShoShop specializes in parts for the SVt contour I think if anyone really knew, they would.

Using the Mazda rotary RX-8engine would do the job. It is very small, 239HP and a redline of 9K RPM.</P>

Yea no torque compaired to an Srt-4. Those things have a really good amount of torque 245. That is what really makes them so fast.

Either way ive been in both andI know the truth. I like the contour more but the fucus is just faster sorry guys. I would rather have a contour over a focus too. I think that is whats blurring your vision here. I'm talking about performance lol I have rarely even seen a stockcontour break into the 15s and even if it did the focus can do it with no problems

On my way to work this morning, a cute blonde lady with a shiny silver SVT Focus pulled up along side me. I was admiring her nice silver SVT wheels when I looked up and saw her checking me out also... Well, not me, my car. I gave her the ol' "let's run" nod, but she just smiled. I guess she didn't want to make my Dark Shadow Grey '03 Cobra look bad. </P>

I have driven a contour SVT for 2 years now and I wouldnt trade it for the world. I Know it can beat a Focas SVT, because I have driven both. But I agree that it depends on who is driving the vehicles. <IMG src=smileys/smiley17.gif border="0"></P>

Stock the Contour would win 7 out of 10 times When the mods start flying the Focus would kill the Svt Contour.</P>

ye, my dad owns a 98' silver svt countor, and a 02' silver svt focus, but, the contour deff replicates more of a "muscle car" feel then the focus, n supposedly the conty tops out at 143 n the focus tops out at 134. personally id think the conty might win but, the focus wouldnt b that far behind, but thts ina straight line, overall i think the foci has better handling

holy ****. I've accually owned both of these cars. I ran into my old contour SVT on the street when I was in the SVT focus and the focus is faster. I've beaten probably 4 SVT contours in my SVT focus, it was a 03 SVT focus and I had a 2000 contour SVT.
