Okay, I haven't asked in a while. Anyone know where I can finda 3 speed for a 200ci I6? It's going into a 66 coupe for those of you who don't know. I just checked ebay, but can't find what I'm looking for.
Also, I would need all the extras as well. The clutch pedal, cables thru to the tranny, bellhousing, ect. The car was originally a 3 speed manual, but someone took it out and put in a C4. []
I'm just trying to get an idea of how much I'm looking at.
you can drop a t-5 in it with the 200 i know cause i did it you're gonna need a bell housing for a 200 and an adapter plate from www.moderndriveline.com and all of the clutch stuff and a couple other things i cant remember right now
If you bid on that 3 speed made sure it will fit a 200 a V8 3 speed will not fit a 66 200, the 66 200 3 Speed was a weak ass piece of junk. I should know thats what came in my car , I blow it up twice the first time was a speed shift the only time I ever tried it. The second time the fuel filter cloged with rust and made the car buck and that made thw trans blow. So if you can do it I would go with the T5 or 4 speed.

Look at post number three. I kinda figured that. I'm a little intrigued by the T5 idea tho. I want one anyways for when I put in the V8 and once I get the head taken care of for the 200, I'm good to go. Minus some body work and a windshield.
I did a T5 swap about a year and a half ago. Wrote up a thread on it here. Also there is some info on the web page in my sig about this.
You can do a V8 3 speedswap the same way as you do a T5 swap. I did thisalmost 30 years ago, because even back then that piece of crap little 2.77 wasexpensive to fix.Of course back then they didn't make kits, but that's another story...
Used a clutch friction disc for a Pinto and a pilot bearing for the'67 Mustang. Cut a steel plate the thickness needed to make up for the longer input shaft, drilled and tapped holes for the bell housing and weldedthe plateto the transmission (eyeballed the alignment).Did the whole swap for less than what it would have cost to fix that little piece of doo-doo 2.77. The only bitch was crawling under the carwith the transmission on my chest. That steel plate added some serious heft. Left a bruise across my chest that looked like I'd been smacked square up by apipe.
Ah, to be young and dumb!
