Default Beat by a Turbo'd SRT-4

I was on the way home with my sister on this loooong stretch of highway, and from a long way back I saw a neon soI'm like "Hey look Cait, a neon. Isnt that the car you wanted" lol. But as he kept getting a little closer I could see the body kit so I'm like "Oh sheeit. Wait. Yea thats an SRT-4 he'll probably wanna race me and he'll probablybeatme by a little bit". So I slowed down so he'd get tome faster and we could line up and take off and as he was getting real close I could see something evil. And intercooler. Just what I needed to see lol. So to my sister I'm like "yea I'm about to loose but it'll be fun so what the hell" so he pulls up along side me andfloors it just for a second(just so I'd hear the turbo probably... showoff), and we go on his third honk. His turbo spools up and he jumps ahead on the initial take off but then starts losing speed andreeeeally slowly is still pulling ahead. This suprised me becauseI thought he'd be long gone by now. I was never pulling on him at any point but I DID keep up real good considering my car, as you may or may not know, is completely stock and auto. So with him about two lengths in front of me, and 70mph later, for a total of 130, I was like alright alright I lost (big suprise) now I'm gonna pull up next to him and tell him good job. So he started slowing down, probably wanting to race again, and I lined up with him and Idid the "he's out" kindasign as to say "you got me", laughed, and did a u turn back to my house (I missed my exit just to get my ass beat lol). DAMN I can't wait to get my new stroked 5.0... veryhigh 9's in the quarter on pump gas[sm=bling.gif]

Your planning to run 9's? What is this new motor you speak of?

Oh. Well. Sorry about that I'm not too good with Dodges lol. It did sound aftermarket though... do they come stock with really loudBOV's?Anyway the engine I'm picking up, probably mid/late '07, is gonna be a stroked 5.0 from DSS. It actually willput me atconsistentmid/low 10's on pump (premium; 93) gas, but after I strengthen everything, adda little octane booster, throw ondrag radials andupgrade thesuspensionI should be at extremely low 10's or high 9's. If I still want more after that, I'll throw in a 150 shot or a turbo (don't worry, DSS blocks are made for this!). But I've never ever seen a car on the road in my 'hoodthat does low 10's or 9's so a power adder won't exactly be necessary. But who knows... that nitrous... could be fun? And let's not forget thatthere IS those times when a Bugati Veyron, Lingenfelter Corvette, Viper Hennessy Custom 1000TT etcpulls up next to you at the light

Never hear of DSS before, went to their sight. Prices are cheap. Which motor are you looking at?

Yea I was just looking around one day and found DSS... kinda funny because I had never considered SERIOUSn/a performance before I found this site. I was always looking at a blower. Anyway it's one of the stroked shortblocks, it's a 5.0. It'll probably cost me around 5 large to get it up and running, but I've been saving for this exact event so it's all good.

It only takes 5k to run 9's on motor in a 2v?

::falls over::

Looks like I'm one of the biggest losers to have sold my 02 GT for an 03/04 Cobra. 5k ona NA 2vwill get you to 350RWHP if you get on your knees and pray to whatever god you worship and find a dyno to inflate your numbers a little bit. It's not that easy MarineCorps03GT, let's be a little more realistic. Ask some of the NA GT guys on this site. It'll take 5k just to break mid 12's NA, not including suspension mods. It'll take a SERIOUS motor that'll cost well above 5k for the shortblock to get near the 9's even with a power adder.
