Running a sub/amp off of stock non mach headunit?

i have the money now for a amp/sub. the installer said i could hook it up to the stock headunit. i have the base stereo no mach system. im gonna do this until i get anough money for a headunit which should be like around 2 weeks or so. how will it sound? im gona be running a 12in kicker L7 in a sealed box and kicker 600/1 amp. will this work?

wow man nice article. you seem to know alot about systems. so its prolly a good thing i have the base system in my and not the mach 460 or 100 right? and will that amp i stated above match up good? i think its the kicker kx600. 600/1. and defintialy later on down the road im gonna get headunit. im looking at this. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_6861.htmllooks like a really nice piece. what do you think? and will i be able to keep my stock speakers and just run straight vocals to them and let the sub do all the bass work? to try and save some money so i dont have to purchase new speakers yet.
