He caught me at a set of lights, I didn't notice what was besides me until we started driving from the lights..we took off from 20mph and we were on a secluded part of a highway and we ran up to 80. I put 3-4 car lengths on him...
Once we got into town we stopped at a set of lights, I asked him how's it goin and he appeared alittle shocked and he said "good, until 5 minutes ago". He then smirked and said "she has alittle go huh". I laughed and said "yeah, not enough though, still have work to do" He said his was bored .030 with alittle P&P heads & a nice lopey cam.
I feel like such a traitor! I grew up drooling over 1stgen Camaro's, and after owning a restored 3rdgen myself.. Heh, times change!!

A lot of weight to pull? 1st gen Fbodys are right about 3300lbs with AC. Without alot of options they were down in the 2800-3100 range. That doesnt sound to heavy to me since most Stangs are about the same weight. Just because something is old doesnt mean its heavy. The guy probably had a 327/350 cam and a set of smogger heads. Thinkin it was all bad because he just got it back from the shop that put it together for him. I know a bunch of guys like that. Most drive chevies!! lol. It does take a bit to get an older car to run. Its not a slap it together and add a fart can like certain people think it is. I own TWO slow as molasses V8's. My 67 Cougar was and is pitiful, and I have a 74 Formula 350. POOCH, as in wont peel the skin off cooled pudding. But also they havent really been modded and I havent spent more than $1500 on both of them.

Well, Normally old and big does=heavy. Our old GTO was a real beast with a 455, 4 speed on the floor, headers, glass pack, and 4.10s. She'll do high 11s all day, but man was she heavy as hell.
