Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone has removed decals from their stang before and can point me in the right direction for doing it. I want to take off the white rocker panels on the sides and replace those with either the red or silver firepony decals.

Will taking these off chip/ruin my paint? And can I do this myself?

Thanks for the help!

I'm pretty sure it won't mess up your paint. Are you talking about vinyl decals?

Yeah.

Here's what they look like:

I'm just not sure of how to get them off without scraping up the paint. Anyone know of any solvents or something safe to use?

http://www.topoftheline.com/eldecrem.html you can use that. I took decals off my other car just by kind of working it at the corner with my finger nail and then pulling it off slowly. i messed up by doing it in winter. Thry come off a whole lot easier when you do it when the decals are warmed up. Let your car sit in the sun for a while and then go at it. If theres any residue on there you can clean it up with some adhesive remover, but make sure its safe for your paint. It should say so on the back of it. You can buy it at any autoparts store.

Hmmm, thanks for the link.

My mom's boyfriend said a hairdryer may warm it up also. But since it's getting cold here, maybe I'll wait til spring and just ask for the decals for Xmas. Don't want to mess it up during the cold weather.
