37 years old.
V8 1960's style and it reminded me of my Grandpa's 1965 Fastback.
This is what it looked like.

I'm 42 and I got my Mustang because........ I was doing a Starsky and Hutch 75 Grand Torino and I was getting pissed that everytimeI would work on it, something would come up and I would have to spend the money on something else..... So one day I told my wife that if I could get a New Mustang that I would get rid of the Torino......So the next day we're at the Dealer buying the Mustang. As I am sigining the papers, she tells me now you have to sell the Torino. I was sad to see the Torino go because I never finshed it but now I have my Mustang and Love it!

Im 17 and this is my first car ever. V6 though, but its stilla mustang. Ive always like engines and workin on cars and such, you know the deal...The mustang is just an easier platform for me to work and practice on then say, an audi....I fell in love when I was 14 at the 2003 or 2004 NY auto show whereI first saw her and, "I want one in 2006 whenI drive." NowI have one, and mayI say it will not be the last. Start small, think big, go big. V8

I'm 28, and I researched cars for several months, and test drove several of them. Some of the others I was considering;Nissan 350Z, Mazda RX 8, Infiniti G35, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo, Subaru WRX Sti, and several others. To me, the sound and power (especially torque) of the Mustang is what won me. I loved the redesigned look when the 05's came out (my brother had a 96, then an 04), and when I sat in one and drove it, I was in love. Still am. No complaints what so ever on this car. It's a vast change from my '03 Nissan Sentra SER SpecV show car...

Were you asking the ages of the owners?

I'm 29, bought the car because I like muscle cars, the '07 Mustang has that retro look while still filling a style of "new and different", and because it was an affordable car that I could get myself into (Chargers are about $10k more for the Hemi powered one, and I could get 2 Mustangs for the cost of a Corvette).

Yes, it's heck trying to keep the tank filled and my foot off the gas, but this car is a BLAST to drive!:D

I'll be 60 on January 8. Someone totaled my work car, and I had to buy another one. I asked myself, "what kind of car do I want?" And the answer was Mustang GT. So I bought it. I'm happy with the size of my body parts, BTW.

That's always the ways with the classics, man...I've got funds that could be going in to a rebuild on my '74 Vette and my '67 Jaguar, that are now going into monthly payments on my GT. :) It's a never ending cycle, man!

But I gotta love my new GT...SWEET car. If the engine ever dies out of warranty, maybe I'll slap in a 302 and build it up. :)

I'm 57. I had two 66 Mustangs, one with a V8 and stick, an 85 Mustang GT 5.0, 5 speed and now my 06 GT with 5 speed manual. I am curious what the 2026 model will look like.

I realize that by todays definition, this is a muscle car, but I don't consider it a muscle car since I hadoriginal muscle cars in the sixties and seventies.

I wanted one the first time I saw the pictures of the S197, but it took me a few years to get my budget ready for it and to wait for the bugs to be worked out.

My car is Wine Red (whatever they call it) with the 18" polished Bullit wheels.

BTW, I don't need Viagra and I have no problem with the size of my body parts. Luckily my wife of 32 years needs no help either and she also is happy with my body parts. So, I'm driving a powerful, manual transmission carand have a good sex life. Life can get no better.

Mustangs have always been a thing in my family. My dad and uncle both had a '66 for their first car. Another Uncle had a '70 Mach 1 until recently when he sold it to get an '06 GT. Another Uncle had an '82 GT. He recently picked up a black "06 GT/CS. Growing up mom and pops had a '79 LX. Sister-n-law has a '66 289 3spd. Cousin has a '99 V6. I am 27 now and it was time to get mine.

I was 16 when i bought by first car - a $200.00 77 Mustang II T-Top car with a blown up V6. It still looks like it belongs in a junk yard, but with a 425 HP 302 (all motor) it spanks almost every car that trys to pass me.

Now I'm 25, and when the wife said she wanted to buy a new car for her to drive I wasnt about to sink 20-30K into anything other than a Mustang. We shopped around (hello eBay) and picked up a red 06 GT with black leather for $24,000 and only 2k miles on it. (local ford dealer wanted over 30k after all the paperwork and crap)

Our 06 seems to have more little issues and rattles/whines than I would EVER have thought, but nontheless I still have fun every time I get behind the wheel :D

Purchased my first Mustang, a 5 year old '65 GT coupe as a daily driver for college after I got out of the Marines in 1970. Acquired my second Mustang, a '75 coupe through marriage in 1976, just wished she would have kept the '66 GTO tripower instead. So my new manual '07 Torch Red GT vert. will be my third Mustang and it will arrive sometime between now and Christmas. Though the Mustangs are all long gone, I still have the same wife so getting a new Mustang was not an issue as long as she could drive it once a week.:) I may have to replace her '98 Grand Marquis SE with a new one before too long. She's just debating new with all of the deep discounts, or her present car, which still runs great with the digital dash.

Oh yeah to answer your question, 61 going on 16. :)

Great posts, everyone.

I'm 35. I wanted a new car to be my daily driver so that I could keep the miles off my Marauder. I want to supercharge the Marauder and make it my dedicated project car. So for my new daily driver I wanted something that looked good, was rear drive, V8 powered and since I've got an auto in my Marauder I wanted the new car to be manual. Oh, and it needed to be $30k or less to fit in my budget. That pretty much leaves just one car that fits all those parameters. But in truth the Mustang was at the top of my list from the very beginning. I've been wanting one since the '05s first came out. Love these S197 'Stangs.

I'm having a great time getting to know my new GT and have just over 700 miles on it so far. I'm really impressed by the build quality. I have to say that fit and finish and little details are generally better than on my '03 Marauder. Hope that's a positive sign for Ford quality control going forward.

I bought mine because Ford finally built the one I've been looking for since my first new '85 LX 5.0 Coupe and since then I've had 4 other Mustang's. I was of the opinion my '06 Black GT would be it for a very very long time, but the idea of Ford making a Boss 302 has me drooling. So if they do build it, I'll be in line for one, if not, a Shelby may be in my future.

I am 49 and I bought My Mustang because I have a congenital disorder that has been in the family since time began. It's called "WBSPS" or "White Boy Short Penis Syndrome". Actually, It may not have a very large diameter but it sure is short. So, Since I previously owned a 1966 GT-350H that I sold in 1977 (like a complete idiot!). I have been waiting 29 years to replace my first love. All of these years I have had nothing to compensate with. Now I can drive around town in my Mustang and pretend that my organ is HUGE!

O.K. so in reality I am a contractor. And, I'm supposed to drive a pick-up truck like most of the podunk contractors here in Colorado. Thing is, I've been driving pick-ups and SUVs for over 20 years. I am damn tired of that! So, my wife suggested I buy something that I'd really like to drive. It didn't take but a couple of days and my new GT was parked in the garage. I love it. What a great car! What mid-life crisis? My kids want to ride in her all the time. My wife wants to ride in her all the time. Only one complaint: Anyone know if there is a nitrous credit card available? My bottle keeps going empty and that sucks!

28 Years old here, had my share of different vehicles over the years, but never owned a mustang before, and no desire to own one (except the 67's) until the 05 Came out. I had owned a fairly heavily modified Focus ZX3 that I had built into a "Euro-spec" car, because I was sick to death of all the hondas and acuras rolling around, and wanted something less common. I hit a crossroads with that car, as I knew that I'd have to put forced induction into the car to make it as fast as some cars are STOCK, or to beat up on the typical imports. But, if I had done that, then I would have needed a bigger clutch, LSD, chromoly driveshafts, and bigger brakes. On top of that, the car was racking up the mileage fast, and wasn't worth squat to most dealerships if I wanted to trade it in.

The local Ford store in Pembroke ON had sold my roomate his 2003 Escape v6 Limited, and wanted me as a customer. The owner of the dealership owned an 05 black on black leather GT premium with low km's, and when he found out I was interested in the new mustang, he made me an offer/deal on my previous car I couldn't refuse.

Now the tables have turned...the S197 gets HUGE street cred where I live, and does almost everywhere I go...I used to have guys in SRT4's and Acura RSX's look down their nose at my modded Focus, acting like they were "King S**t", and now they look at the stang as if it's a Nemesis. Even guys or gals in Audi's, Bmw's, and Lexus and other luxo-mobiles look at my car with lust when sitting beside me at traffic lights.

Now my family and Friends all want one...looks like Ford hit a Homerun with the S197...

I'm 63 , never owned a mustang befor however I've admired the '04 ever since I took a close look.
Then when the '05's came out , I just had to have one. I ordered mine in July of "05 and was dissapointed that "05's were done and it had to be an '06 . I took delivery of my Windviel Blue GT in Sept. of '05. I love my car and did well at the track this last summer. Do need to learn how to control the throttle and should do better with drag radials.

Im 34 and i have owned well over 20 cars in my life and one of them was my 68 fast back. I loved and miss that car. It had though many faults, like seeing out the back and turning when your going over 60. was tough but she had a 351 clevland in her(borrowed from a 69) and man she could go. and oh ya no traction in rain or snow. She died and i did not have the money at the time to fix her up. Yes i regret that now big time. Then i went to go get a mustang in 2000 but they did not appeal to me and looked and felt nothing like my 68 but i was just about to buy a dodge magnum when my wife said, now that you are certain of buying this go try another car that you like and see if its better. So i tried the 05 and bought one the next day. I love her and she reminds me of my old baby and more. I also love the attention i get with her, just the other day an undercover cop car raced up next to me and the police officer in the middle of an intersection was asking me all kinds of questions about my car. held up traffic. Was awsome.

I just turned 56 and I bought my 05 GT in November of 04 because I've always had a passion for high performance cars. The other day I was talking to another car enthusist and it got me thinking. Istarted driving in the late 60's, my first new car was a 69 Chevelle SS 396-375 hp car. I've had many, many more in between but really I was a GM fanin my younger years and soldthe 69 CamaroI owned for 15 years about 4 years ago.The only Fords I've ownedare a2001 Bullitt, a 2003 GT, and now the 05 GT. I've been bleesed to have livedin both high performance eras (late 60's early 70's) and the new dawning of this high performance era which to me has started with the ressurrection of the retro Looking Mustang, the Upcoming Dodge Challenger, and if you can call it a retro car the veryDissappointing Camaro (and this is coming from a old GM Fan). To me the old cars have gone crazy in price over the past few years and I cannotreason to buy another when you can now buy something brand new that has thelooks of the old cars and all the creature comforts that our Mustangs do.

I'm 31 - I have been considering the new mustang ever since I first saw one of the 2005's driving around. Then, last week one of my co-workers had his F-350 in the shop for repair and they gave him a Mustang to use while it was being repaired. He let me drive it and that was that. I went and got mine the next week (Yesterday). I'm now a proud owner of an '06 V6 Redfire Metalic Convertible.

I'm 28 and have driven mostly trucks. I was in CA on business for a month and my rental car was a '06 Tungsten V6. That was the greatest rental car ever. Every time I talked to my wife I talked to her about my rental car, not about how work was going. lol. When I got back from my business trip, she drove me to the dealership and traded her '04 Subaru WRX for my brand new '06 GT tungsten! We'd been discussing how to get her ex-husband off the subby's loan. Well, you can't do that unless you refinance. While I was on my business trip, she called the banks and got everything lined up. Man was I surprised!

Please explain your "small block it" comment. I was under the impression that the 05-07 Mustangs were all small block pistons...I wasn't aware any manufacturers had made a big block to be sold in a street car since the early 70's, due to the fuel crises? I wouldn't swap the block on a Roush, especially if it's a stage 2 or 3, as there's engine work that's done on it to pump up the HP.

I'm 45 and loved seeing the original mustang as a little kid in the 60's and and early 70's but by the time I was old enough to drive the style had changed and I couldn't afford one anyway. This is my first mustang - now I'mliving the dream and loving every minute of it!The best part is when I'm driving by the little, littlekids and they yell "nice car!" and it's like history repeating itself as the muscle car erabeginswith the mustang all over again.

47 here. My wife has always wanted a Mustang and really likes the old style fastback look. My only stipulatoin was it needed to be a GT. So now there is a 06 Mustang Vista Blue GT next to the Red Vette. Why did we buy it? Because we can.

By the way, I had to quote your post djponyaz because your story is so eerily like mine. I recently got the vista blue and my husband is adiehard fan of the corvette and has a '71 in red. That's another reason I love my car, because it shares the old days idea in that its retro and Ifeel the same kind of love and devotion as my husband has for his car. And yes,now we can too.

I'm 32. My first love was my Yamaha FJR1300 motorcycle. It is hard to beat cycle performance with zero to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds. I bought a 2006 Mustang Convertible V6 so I still look to the cycle when I want pure performance. The problem is that with a wife and two young kids the cycle doesn't get ridden much. The convertible gives a good balance of open air feeling that I can take the whole family along for a ride. Plus I found mine used for under $20k only six months old so it was a great deal.

The reason I chose the Mustang over another convertible is the looks simply can't be beat and keep getting better each time I add a personal touch to it. The Mustang is one of the only good looking 4 seater convertibles on the market.

I've always loved the mid-sixties mustang convertibles. I'm 45, but my favorite dinky car as a kid in the sixties was a white Mustang. When Ford brought out the retro styling it was only a matter of time. I had a company car for many years, now that I work for myself I could get what I wanted. Guess what, it was a Mustang convertible.

46 here. I bought one since It had been awhile since I had a muscle car and that's all I used to drive.
I started off with a 69 Roadrunner, had a nice 72 Chevelle with a chromed motor and a 76 Trans Am that was a two year labor of love to restore. I had a very nice 1992 black Gran Prix with the 4 valve per cylinder motor that ran pretty good, but it was still only a 6 cylinder. When I saw the S197 show car in 04,I was in awe. I've never owned a Mustang before or even a Ford and considered myself basically a GM guy,but this is the best muscle car, bar none that I have ever had.It burns rubber like crazy, sounds great, is crazy good lookingand will outrun just about anything on the road. What's not to love?
And the mods continue...

I'm 47. When the 05's came out I wanted one. Took me 2 years but finally got one. Graduated High School in 77. 2 of my buddies had mustangs. A 66 289 and a71 429. That 429 was something else. I had a lime gold 68 Fairlane 500 Fastback 390. I've had dependable cars since then, but nothing I really enjoyed.Built it on the Ford website, dealer had it in stock. I did it for me. What the heck. When it snows I'll drive the truck. Years from now when it needs a new engine or trans it will get a new engine or trans. We can't keep them all, but this is the keeper.

I am 48 and am going through a mid-life crisis I guess. I had a '69 Camaro Indy Pace Car convertible that I sold (big mistake). The Mustang is a great car and reminds me of the Camaro only a lot more refined and comfortable. I ended up with a Foose for two reasons. First I wanted something a little different than a "normal" Mustang and secondly I wanted something that might appreciate in value over time. We will see if that happens.

Anyways, I am blessed with having a very understanding wife and my kids love riding in the "vert".

One more thing I forgot...

One of the biggest reasons I bought my car was mustangforums.com. With this many people talking about how much they love there cars and all the fun they have making it there own and modifying it, I knew it would love my car too.

This was my first sports car and I really am glad I finally got the balls to go out of my comfort zone even though my last two vehicles (Chevy Venture minivan and Chevy Impalla family sedan) admittedly were a little better for hauling my two kids around. However, 99% of the time I am driving my car by myself and I love it.

Who ever thought driving to WORK in the morning could actually be fun????????

Just turned 39 going on 25! It's my 5th Mustang (85 GT, 89 GT, 99 Cobra, 03 Mach I, 06 GT).

If you don't mind, I'll tell a story - it's not really off topic, as you'll see....

I spent two years selling Fords. One of my best sales - the kind that just make you feel good because of what you didand not because of the money - was to a guy who was in his mid-forties. He'd never had a sports car. He came in looking to trade his 04 F150 in on a "completely loaded Expedition Limited." We found an Expedition that he liked and proceeded to hammer outa deal. During the course of negotiations I had noticed that every time I went back to the desk, he'd walk over to the Tungsten Grey GT we had on the showroom. It had a shaker hood, nice wheels, exhaust, chin spoiler and a few other small mods - nothing over the top, but classy. Every time I'd come back he's walk back to the table and sit down with me.

We'd pretty much finished up, got to a deal, and while we were waiting on finance, I asked him if he liked the Mustang (being Mustang crazy myself, I couldn't resist). He said yes, and added that he'd always wanted one, but then got married, had kids, etc. I asked him about his kids and he said they're all out of the house, he's divorced - in other words, single. He then said, "but I really need a truck anyway, they're more practical for hauling things, etc." I asked him when was the last time he hauled anything in the truck he was trading in (it was very clean), and he said he'd used it as a "truck" maybe two or three times. I told him that Home Depot will rent you a truck for a lot less than one costs for the few times you'd need it. Plus, I added, the Mustang is about $8000 less, and gets about 10 mpg better mileage (even modded). He was like, "really?" I could see his expression change. We kept talking about it, and eventually I asked him if he wanted to take it for a drive, which he did. The rest is history. He came in to buy an Expedition and left in a modded Mustang GT, and I might add, he was grinning from ear to ear!

just turned 37 got the car for my bday a present from my wife, ive never been much of a sports car guy, always been pretty practical about vehicles, so much so that the vehicle we traded in was a minivan. From minivan to v6 5-speed convertible mustang... now the weekend feels more like a vacation than just another day!!!

25, 2007 GT. Got it cause my previous car was dying and I'd had my eye on these new stangs since they came out. Wanted a car with some get up and go that was also not ricey, comfortable, and had a back seat (however actually useful). Everything else fell out of the running while I was looking around and I honestly couldn't be more happy with my decision.

Also, tires smell almost too good to be legal.

He came in to buy an Expedition and left in a modded Mustang GT, and I might add, he was grinning from ear to ear!

dude, I have not always had an idea of how a saleman could be in such a position to do something wonderful (for the customer). But I guess I have heard an example for the first time. Thanks for saving the guy. He really needed it.

This is my 3rd and best one yet I would never by a V6(no offense to anyone, just not 4 me) My first was a 96GT Auto[:'(] when I was 20. Then I got a 99 GT manual:) when I was 22. Then I wanted a Terminator at 23. And after test driving a few, I decided to test drive a S197, since the price was the same and I fell for the looks, more refined interior, and warranty so I got my 05:D. The real reasonwhy I bought this car and the ones prior is because I'm unable to reproduce so these are kinda my children.

23. bought it in February. Had to replace my old 91 Saleen after it was stolen and stripped, andafter growing up around a 65 coupe, 67 fastback, an 89 Saleen andthe 91 Saleen, I essentially already knew I would be replacing the poor Saleen with another stang.

The fact that when I polled a few of the girls I knew from school about the what car to get, 4 out of 5 said to get the Mustang only helpedtosolidify mydecision:D

LONG story.

When I was 14 (1997) I fell in love with the '98 style Camaro SS (WAIT! I'm getting to the mustang part!) and I started working every summer picking tomatoes and okra at a local farm (MISERABLE work, but paid a lot more than mcdonald's!) I saved every penny I earned with the intention of buying a camaro. Just before I graduated, I came across a picture of my Dad's blue '65 GT350 that he had before I was born. Hearing him talk about that car shifted my love from camaros to stangs. When I was 17, afew weeks after I graduated highschool, I went out and bought a blue '99 stang (I had enough for the car, and my dad helped me with TT&L). I drove that car to college and work for 6 years, 112K miles, and never had a problem. Then hurricane Katrina took it from me. I didn't have much money, so I bought a '95 GTS with 110K miles on it. I had it for 6 months when I got a HUGE bonus at work, which I used to buy my '06 GT in March of '06 (I was 22, for those keeping up with the topic at hand.) I sold the GTS to a friend, who promptly totaled it. Now I'm 24 and have no plans of getting rid of this car any time soon.

Was 22 when bought mine, reason: 300hp for 24k, who else can beat that? closest competitor is 350z that not only has 2 seats but is also 6k more with less power.
The dream car would be the vette for me though... I don't think even gt500 can beat base vette's handling

I was 39 when I bought my '05, had to sell my '91 to get it. When I saw the s197 body style I had to have it, but I wasn't going to be one of those idiots who ran right out in September of '04 and had to wait for weeks and weeks to get one so I waited all the way until March of '05, and only had to wait 5 weeks for it to be delivered.....Wait.... I had a 66 coupe with an auto tranny and 289 when I was a senior in high school (sort of Torch Red). It didn't last me long the way I treated it then, plus I was one of those college students that was just scraping by. I have put two kids through college (and the wife and I paid every penny of it), and finally decided it was time for something for Dad. Also, the retro look is just what I have been waiting for. I tell my kids and younger folks I work with,"they don't make 'em like they used to, they make them a whole lot better now". I got tired of all the people I work with getting a hot car and decided I wanted one of my own. I drove 150 miles to a dealer that hada GT inthe color I wanted and bought it (dragged the wife along kicking and screaming). I'm 54 and can keep this in the barn over the winter so it won't rust away like the last one. Ordered the retro louvers and the GTA axleback mufflers and can't wait to put them on.

Tired of dumping money into a dedicated track car (road courses) and wanted to have fun on the streets too. Loved the looks the day they came out and heard that they did well on the track too. Checked out parts and there were many options. Took one for a test drive and couldn't stop smiling, bought it the next day.

I'm in my 40's and bought this car because it reminded me of my old 69. When I had my 69 I was a poor guy starting a family and I could barely afford gas so I never got to do anything nice with it. Jump forward 20 or so years and this car comes out. Now my kids are grown and I can have some fun. Oh, that and to compensate for mAnytyles small penis.

I have had a LOT of vehicles over the years. I simply enjoy this car more than any I have ever owned.

20 when i got it, 21 now, almost had it a full year now, i got it because i really needed a new car, i was driving an 88 cutlass with 120k on it, and various problems that i was jus buying myself time on, while i worked two jobs for 2 full years to save up enough for a decent down payment, the day i saw these mustangs, i did the math to figure out how much of a payment i could afford, and how much of a down payment i needed to get to that monthly payment, and as soon as i got there, i went right out and bought it.

I was 44 when I saw the new Mustang at the 2005 LA auto show. I couldn't take my eyes off of this car; finally Ford had the nuts to build a Mustang again. I sat in them, I looked at them at stop lights. Two weeks before Christmas 2005 I decided to test drive one. The salesman said, "Why don't you open it up?" I revved the tach to four grand, dumped the clutch, laid fifty feet of rubber, barked second gear and hit sixty in no-time-flat.

After that, what's left... I bought one.

2006 GT :I was 38 when I bought it (I'm 39 now) Bought it because I was tired of my C5 Vette, I'm more of a muscle/ponycar guy vs. sports car guy, nice to have a back seat and a real trunk, love the retro styling, I love the old Mustangs. And its like having 2 cars in one, an old muscle car in great shape that you don't have to dump a ton of money into, and be frustrated with, plus its safer, better technology, etc!!!

I'm 53 going on 20. At least that's how I feel at WOT and the Whipple kicks in. I owned a '66 Shelby replica that was heavily modified. Beautiful saphire blue car, white stripes, torque thrust II wheels, rack and pinion, etc. Parked it on the street one day. Came back to the car and some guy offered to buy it at an out a sight great price. Went right down to the ford dealer and bought a new vert with everything on it and turned it into another replica. Another beautiful car that is way faster, way safer, way better handling, and can be taken on long trips without any worries. Best car I have ever owned by far. If you ever wonder whether a supercharger is worth it, stop wondering. It's an amazing feeling.

I've owned a '67 convertible, an 86 GT, an 89 GT and now, a one-month old '07 GT. It is the nicest, smoothest riding, comfortable and powerful Mustang I've owned. I very much enjoy driving it. My wife loves it too, and my 12 year-old son? What do you think? Its a Mustang thing!

I had to buy a new car because my 96 V6's engine blew out. The new Stangs were at the top of my list (if I was able to afford it.)

I've always loved Mustangs for as far back as I can remember. My mom still has the 69 Fastback that she got for her 16th birthday.

I love the new Mustangs even more because they remind me of those 69-70 models. My favorite years!

I am 36 and I had always wanted a Mustang. The look, the power and for the price, nothing else compares. I don't know alot mechanically about cars but I know one thing that all of us share and that is the love of an AMERICAN muscle car. When people ask what kind of car I have, I smile and proudly say "A Mustang GT" and the reaction I get is unbelievable. Kids that see it say they can only hope they can get one when they grow up and the older people in my neighborhood say that they are living their dream to have one through me, as they watch me outside always washing or just admiring my car. I can't go a day without someone stopping me and wanting a ride(especially girls) or just to see the inside and the engine. I don't know of any other car that brings people together like the mustang does and I am very proud to be part of the MUSTANG NATION!!!!!

Not many cars can claim that except maybe the Porsche 911 and Mercedes SL. Thats a hell of an acheivement and Im glad to be part of it.

My two brotherswent through several classic hotrods when they were growing up and when it came my time to drive mom and dad put the foot down and said no more fixerupers in the driveway, soI romped around in my wrangler which was a blast! Highly recommend it. So I graduated collegeand got a good job as a patent analyst and decided I disserved something nice. I test drove WRX's, RX8, 350z, new wranglers, even looked ata 68camaroand after driving the stang it became obvious, which drove my Chevy loving family nuts but there not the one driving. Got the mustang back in June and have been enjoying it ever since. Mods should ensue shortly[8D].

I just turned a young 52, bought my first Stang (first Ford, actually) about 3 1/2 months ago. After being financially raped by my ex-wife and still paying 2/3 rd's of both kids college expenses, I had been strapped for cash. But the divorce has been final for about 2 years, I have a better paying job AND I had just written the last tuition payment for the oldest boy in May. I decided I needed to celebrate since I hadn't had a muscle car since selling my '78 Camaro in 1985 (marriage and kids do that kind of sh*t). So I got the Stang. It also helped that my latest g/f told me she gets off over Stangs and she goes ape**** whenever she hears those Stingers.

BTW, after I got home with the car from the dealership I promptly called my oldest son and said "I have good news and bad news. The good news is, for your graduation I bought a new Mustang GT. The bad news is, IT'S NOT FOR YOU!"

I'm 30. I had an ex-bf who got a '65 fastback and once I learned how to really drive it, I loved it. So I really want a '66, but expense, safety, and long term car needs are keeping me away from it at the moment. I needed a new car, so I did the Ford 0% for 72 months. Can't beat a $250 car payment, especially when Honda was offering $400 a month on an Si. So it was partly a financial choice and an aesthetic choice.

In any case, I chose the car for looks and looks alone. It doesn't look like any other car on the market. It looks like the old school car I want. It has personality and a bit of umph to the driving experience. I got the '07 v6 pony package w/leather.
