LONG story.
When I was 14 (1997) I fell in love with the '98 style Camaro SS (WAIT! I'm getting to the mustang part!) and I started working every summer picking tomatoes and okra at a local farm (MISERABLE work, but paid a lot more than mcdonald's!) I saved every penny I earned with the intention of buying a camaro. Just before I graduated, I came across a picture of my Dad's blue '65 GT350 that he had before I was born. Hearing him talk about that car shifted my love from camaros to stangs. When I was 17, a few weeks after I graduated highschool, I went out and bought a blue '99 stang (I had enough for the car, and my dad helped me with TT&L). I drove that car to college and work for 6 years, 112K miles, and never had a problem. Then hurricane Katrina took it from me. I didn't have much money, so I bought a '95 GTS with 110K miles on it. I had it for 6 months when I got a HUGE bonus at work, which I used to buy my '06 GT in March of '06 (I was 22, for those keeping up with the topic at hand.) I sold the GTS to a friend, who promptly totaled it. Now I'm 24 and have no plans of getting rid of this car any time soon.

Was 22 when bought mine, reason: 300hp for 24k, who else can beat that? closest competitor is 350z that not only has 2 seats but is also 6k more with less power. The dream car would be the vette for me though... I don't think even gt500 can beat base vette's handling

I was 39 when I bought my '05, had to sell my '91 to get it. When I saw the s197 body style I had to have it, but I wasn't going to be one of those idiots who ran right out in September of '04 and had to wait for weeks and weeks to get one so I waited all the way until March of '05, and only had to wait 5 weeks for it to be delivered.....Wait.... I AM one of those idiots!!!!

I had a 66 coupe with an auto tranny and 289 when I was a senior in high school (sort of Torch Red). It didn't last me long the way I treated it then, plus I was one of those college students that was just scraping by. I have put two kids through college (and the wife and I paid every penny of it), and finally decided it was time for something for Dad. Also, the retro look is just what I have been waiting for. I tell my kids and younger folks I work with,"they don't make 'em like they used to, they make them a whole lot better now". I got tired of all the people I work with getting a hot car and decided I wanted one of my own. I drove 150 miles to a dealer that had a GT in the color I wanted and bought it (dragged the wife along kicking and screaming). I'm 54 and can keep this in the barn over the winter so it won't rust away like the last one. Ordered the retro louvers and the GTA axleback mufflers and can't wait to put them on.
17, got it because i have always always always loved mustangs. since i was in 1st grade everytime i saw a mustang, (i remember it was sn-95s at the time) i would ask my dad what kind of car is that? and he would go "mustang" i have told you a lot of times already. i just could n't remember mustang so i just called them horses cause of the little horse on the front, lol
I am 30 and I bought the car to go against the grain. I was "expected" to buy a Tahoe or Yukon......or even worse....a Chrysler Town and Country mini-van! (Ouch! It even hurt to type that out it).............
I did it to go against the grain, and I like the looks, (the car and me in it).......................
Well I was 16 when i got it, 17 now, i needed a car, my dad was trying to push me into an older chevelle which was cool but i couldnt afford a nice one so we kept looking, then i went by a ford dealership and decided to stop and look at the mustangs, i went home and started to look at some used 05s on ebay, V6 because i didnt have a whole lot of cash, but then one day after football practice i was waiting for my dad to come pick me up and in pulls a nice looking mustang with white stripes, shiney rims, 1/4 window louvers, dual exhaust(i could hear it) and i said dam, now i really want one of those next thing i know my dad rolls down the window, been driving it ever since and love it. and the best part, he is paying for it until february

Tired of dumping money into a dedicated track car (road courses) and wanted to have fun on the streets too. Loved the looks the day they came out and heard that they did well on the track too. Checked out parts and there were many options. Took one for a test drive and couldn't stop smiling, bought it the next day.

I'm in my 40's and bought this car because it reminded me of my old 69. When I had my 69 I was a poor guy starting a family and I could barely afford gas so I never got to do anything nice with it. Jump forward 20 or so years and this car comes out. Now my kids are grown and I can have some fun. Oh, that and to compensate for mAnytyles small penis.
I have had a LOT of vehicles over the years. I simply enjoy this car more than any I have ever owned.
20 when i got it, 21 now, almost had it a full year now, i got it because i really needed a new car, i was driving an 88 cutlass with 120k on it, and various problems that i was jus buying myself time on, while i worked two jobs for 2 full years to save up enough for a decent down payment, the day i saw these mustangs, i did the math to figure out how much of a payment i could afford, and how much of a down payment i needed to get to that monthly payment, and as soon as i got there, i went right out and bought it.

I'll be 60 next Month. I've lost my desire for some things over the years but power and fords isn't one of them. Oldest was a 40 Ford and now my 07 GT with many Mustangs in between. Even two V-8 Pinto's
26 yrs old. My father has a 65 GT convertible and I have loved it since I can remeber. I got an 07 convert because it happened to be the style that was out when I could afford to buy one, and also has a lot of touches that remind me of the 65.
I'm 17 about to be 18 and my parents bought me an 07 GT Black w/ Dbl 10" Red stripes with GT300 cut outs in the vinyl on the rear of trunk and on both sides of the hood scoop.
I was 44 when I saw the new Mustang at the 2005 LA auto show. I couldn't take my eyes off of this car; finally Ford had the nuts to build a Mustang again. I sat in them, I looked at them at stop lights. Two weeks before Christmas 2005 I decided to test drive one. The salesman said, "Why don't you open it up?" I revved the tach to four grand, dumped the clutch, laid fifty feet of rubber, barked second gear and hit sixty in no-time-flat.
2006 GT :I was 38 when I bought it (I'm 39 now) Bought it because I was tired of my C5 Vette, I'm more of a muscle/ponycar guy vs. sports car guy, nice to have a back seat and a real trunk, love the retro styling, I love the old Mustangs. And its like having 2 cars in one, an old muscle car in great shape that you don't have to dump a ton of money into, and be frustrated with, plus its safer, better technology, etc!!!
First Mustang I've really liked since 1973
