Zanador -> Need Tire Advice (12/17/2006 8:08:59 PM)

Just recently bought a 96 GT with the 17 inch premium stock rims on it. The front tires have alot of tread left, but the back tires are almost bald (Not surprising for a Mustang [;)] ) Can I change just my back tires, or do I need to do all four? I want to get All Season tires, it has 245/45ZR17's on it atm, should I keep it this size or can I go wider on the stock 17 rims? Any suggestions on what type of tire to get? I was looking at Falken ZE-512 ZIEX (30-50 Series) 245/45ZR17 99Y as a possiblity, any suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks!

It is always best to match tires front and rear. If your wheel is at least 8" wide you could run a 255/45-17

If you wanna get a more beefy look you could stagger your tire sizes. a 245/45/17 front and 275/40/17 combo looks nice and wont break the bank... not to mention.. added traction!
