Okay I just hooked up an amp. I first ran the ground to the battery ground. Then I hooked up my signal wire, speakers, and hooked up my RCA's how I thought they go. So I guess I have 2 questions.
1. There is only one hookup for RCA for each channel of the amp. There is no red/white. It's just one black jack.
2. The power light comes on for like 2 seconds, then flashes and it goes into protect mode. Is my amp just blown or is there a chance it may not be?

And I'm sorry because I really do not know how to describe it. Thanks in advance.

Just usual stuff. There is three slots to hook wires. Gnd- ground obviously. REM- I assumed that was signal. 12 V i figured was the power wire. I have a 15 amp inline fuse from the battery to the amp. The blue wire from the back of my Kenwood HU goes to the REM slot. The red and white RCA's in the back of the HU aren't plugged in because there is only one black plug jack. Hope this helps. And if you need to know anything else just ask.

First off the ground from the amp doesnt go to the battery ground, your asking for a fire or implosion of your ride, the ground from the amp gets bolted to some part of the body, like something metal in the trunk. and you might have a mono or 2 channel amp if it doesnt have 4 rca's 2 black 2 red.

It sounds like someone bought a visonik setup from wally world.

Connect the red wire and it should work fine and as stated connect your ground to the car chassis. Grounds should be no longe then 3 feet.
