05-07 Mirrors

Anyone hate the looks of their outside mirrors? Ford must have robbed the truck parts or truck design bin for these hideous looking things! The design Theme of this car was retro, was'nt it? I like the look of the Cobra mirrors from a few years back, any chance they fit? Can't wait for some nicer looking replacements to go on the market. I know painted covers look better, but the shape of these things is what i hate the most! Can anyone find anything uglier? Only thing that i have seen as bad as ours are older square Mercedes mirrors.

I agree.

I heard a rumor that the "blind" designer at Ford designed our mirrors. They are ridiculous.

I agree with you totally. I think the OE mirrors tend to look bulky and cheap. Somebody could do the S197 world a real favor, and make some $, if they offered an easily swapped, smaller and better looking mirror.

The current mirror could look a lot better if it was painted body color. I think the clip-on body color covers that are sold look bad, IMHO, because they cover only a portion of the mirror and ultimately make it look worse.

There are a lot more important things in life to worry about

, but another option for mirrors would indeed be nice.

Didn't like them at first either, but I got used to them. Sure they will change them out in 08.

I am trying to mount the mirrors off of our F150 to our new stang....I like the Dumbo look

I am going to paint mine if I can figure out how to take the mirrors off the car.

I painted my Ram door handles and mirrors, and they looked AWESOME.

If someone knows how to dissassemble the 06 mirrors, let me know. I'll do a thread with a step by step and show the finished product.

Hey Guys & Gals,Found some Mercedes Benz mirrors that just might be as Butt ugly as ours! Very sad when Saturn can give you a prettier mirror.

I actually don't mind them - I have seen them painted body color and UP CLOSE, they don;t look right to me - they LOOK like they didn't come painted and it was done later.

The Midwest mirror caps are the weay to go - put on a pair of those and the difference is amazing. (and you'll start to notice so many more cars out there with that same look - part of the mirror body colored and the rest black)
