What is the recommended tire width? - 12/13/2006 11:15:46 PM    OpalFrost   Posts: 94 Joined: 12/27/2005 From: NYC Status: offline I've got 17x7 rims with ridiculously low profile 205/40 tires. In fact, they're a little too low for my liking and I'm thinking about replacing them. For the new tires, is 205 the optimal width for 7 inch wide wheels or is there a better recommeded size? The smallest size that we recommend is a 245/45-17. His 17x7's are fine... they just suck... The tire size he has now is undersized. I am unclear of what I was wrong about.
