I have a Mustang 03', with current GoodYear tires on, size "225 /55 HR16"

I have the same tires on now for around 3 years...

I was looking to buy new tires actually just for the winter time.I went to a local store "Michel Tire Plus", and what they recommended and try to sell me then and there.
Was a "Bridgestone tire with UNI-T AQ II" They try to convince me that they are the best tires right now, perfect for snow, rain etc...and its meant to be for summer and winter time.

First they tried to sell me all 4 for buy 3 get 1 free for $705,then they went down for $686....

I walked out and said I'll think about it....but I personally do not have much knowledge about winter tires or tires in general....
but they kept telling me that bridgestone is the best tire....not to mention they only and mainly focus or Bridgestone and Firetsone tires...so they did not show much respect to Goodyear...

The only thing I admit,my goodyear tire are kinda slippery in rain, without being fast or anything...

Now I would like to know from you guys what Tires are good and what my options are...
I personally do not wanna invest too much money into tires, because of their brandname...what are truly good safe tires I can use...
Do you guys believe in all season tires, winter and summer time...don'tmatter?

I do no wanna spend more than 550 on new tires...

thanks

PS: using your winter tires at summer time, is there any difference? positive or negative? does anyone who buys winter tires keeps them on during the summer time as well?

Did you tell them that? Try it, you might be surprised. Certainly I wouldn't go much higher for those tires but I'd probably go with either Michelin's or BF Goodrich tires.

You can also shop online and find great deals and have them delivered to your door.
Take them and pay a garage to mount and balance them.

Don't get those all seasons that the store is trying to sell you! If you want a real winter tire go to Tirerack.com and read about winter tires. Brigestone Blizzak,Michelin Alpin,Pirelli Snowsport....etc. these are winter tires. They will have a snowflake mark on the sidewall if they are a true winter tire. They all cost only 116.00-to 130.00 per tire. For 708.00 you could get them on a nice set of rims! They even come mounted ,balanced and full of air.Just bolt on & go. I got the Pirelli Snowsport's and they COMPLETLY transform the car in winters here in New York.

Which model of bridgestone did that place try to sell you? Bridgestone does make some really good tires but it really depends on the specific model.

A winter tire is without a doubt the best in the winter. They are not going to perform well (give you good traction and handling) in warmer temps and will wear quickly.

The exac name of the tires are called,as far the paper i receieved says " Bridgestone UNI-T AQ II - potenza RE 960AS Pole Pos BL

Yeah this is an all season tire, and it only comes with a 40.000 mile limited warranty...

I guess I have to choose a all season tire, cause I do not think I can afford to buy winter tires and later summer tires...

Any advice on all season tires for me?
All I really care about is number Quality and Safety, Smooth Ride......and it should look nice....

That tire is a really good tire but it won't give you great snow and ice traction. It is an ulta high performance all season tire.

For what you said you want, I wouldn't suggest a performance all season tire. I think a tire like the goodyear assurance triple tread or bridgestone turanza LS-H or yokohama avid TRZ would be best for you.
