that t/a short shifted like he had some juice on board...

how much boost was the much lighter vette pushing?..03's pull 5-6psi

im sorry the vette is lighter, and same price as a cobra from those years. it says he only has a loudmouth, so im assuming with stock exhaust and everything he is only running 5-7 psi, you need to open up the exhaust to run the usual 9 psi that will get it to run how it should

why modify any car then?....i'm a gear head...i like challenges...more fun that way

you went the easy route....save up buy a car that has everything<from the factory>.....if choices had to be remade...i'd still go the ol fox body route...

i didnt buy a car that has everything from the factory, i just bought something with a great powerplant to start from. i dont need to swap a bigblock in like you say is easy to hang with bigger cube small block ls1s, an aluminum small block weighs a lot less that your iron big block, and i much cheaper to build.

i understand what you mean with the "challenge" im just saying that the ls1 is a great car and most mustang guys talk like its junk, i just try to compre it to the mustang to get you people to understand, some of you do, and some of you dont care (which i understand) and some of you just dont want to believe that some people sctually think the gen 3 and 4 small block from gm iss a far more superior motor than the modular mustang motor (which i believe). i guess its kind of like religion

alright guys here is the low down. when we were all 16 and **** mustang were decently quick and cheap. they run 14s/15s in the 1/4 mod them and do high 13s low 14s, right? right. once u get older and learn more about cars and figure, wow an ls1 runs faster than my modded 5.0. then thats when u sell ur stang cause it just isnt cool anymore and u get ur ass ran by some stock ls1. then when u get ur stock ls1 it will run low 13s stock. then mod it and run 12s. then u think back like with the stang i would have to cam or spray it to run like my ls1. but if i spray or cam my ls1 i will run 11s in the 1/4 and a 5.0 will have a hard time keepen up with that. u may not admit but alot of people have been on the boat and that is just the facts.

**** bolt on for bolt on my dam gtp will own stangs, ran 14.2 stock some bolt ons ran a 13.4, then put alittle cam in there and 9lbs i ran 12.7. this is on a stock tire no dr or slicks.

ls1 ls2 427 they are awsome powerplants...something i agree with, and ford should have taken notes when GM sneezed these out.

so what about the all famous HEMI? <can't deny those engines....sad part is these great engines get stuck in heavy cows...junk?>...i would never say that about any of those engin es mentioned.....ford should make a 5.4 3valve/4valve as a base engine for the stang/bring it in at 3500lbs...

there is an all alumnium 5.4 block out there, but ford would never touch it....

i'm just glad we are having a civil arguement/debate....i have owned all forms of cars...just got attatched to my toaster box

ahh, you never quit, lol, ill respect that. ill admit thats bad ass mustang, and thats a nice time it ran, but whats the motor setup, is it ran on pump gas, whats the race weight, what kind of trans is it going through.

ill admit thats a nice number it put down but if you want to talk about built motors, most LS motor guys dont build n/a 346 motors, setup for track use only, they mine as well put big more cubes in it while they are at it

so eat this bitch!!

800hp ls7 ALL MOTOR, 3000lb race weight.
http://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=615674

there is a guy that made 950hp with an ls7 motor, ALL MOTOR

and the new warhawk motor is out and the first one has been built by world products and they are shooting for 1200hp ALL MOTOR. sure its a race motor, but not bad for a 427 SMALL BLOCK

eh...LS7 is a great block, aluminum, forged, titanium rods, dry sump the whole 9 yards...but JDP is making the same arguement EVERY chevy fan makes...i've heard it one too many times "put a supercharger on that LS1 and see what happens" or "i made 60,000,000 hp ALL MOTOR"...first off you never run a true motor to motor race...you yap about the LS7 and how great its making all that hp stock, but fords 428 Cobra Jet made about 410 hp 40 years ago, put the same casting today with all the increases in technology and techniques, it would rival (being of equal displacement and OHV design) the LS7 today. I really dont think you have anything to argue about until ford offers an equal engine to the LS7 and you can still beat it...until then its race for race, show respect where its due but quit b*tchin bout who's better

well if your bad ass motor is so great, why doesnt ford make it, all i hear is if ford did this and if ford did that.

well gm is doing this and that, we arent saying if over here on this side.

i do respect mustangs, probably one of the greatest cars ever made, never missed a production year, probably wouldnt be the f-bodies if there were never mustangs, i understand mustangs led the way, im just backing up gms motors as you are backing up fords.

i said it once, and ill say it again.

have fun stuffing you big ass iron big block in the front of your gorgeos mustang, ill take my ls motor with big block capabilities and weighs 430lbs from intake to oil pan.

Yeah, I really didn't read this whole thread because I don't feel like losing any IQ points right now. Other than that, I can't wait until I own an LS1 car.
