motor city baby, not a hard place to find, next year me and about 4 fellow gm buddies will have a line of cars you can choose to race.
we all know ls1's are faster than the 4.6 stock for stock....... but if you look at it, its a 5.7 vs 4.6 you dont have to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out.....
but for some reason im not a member of any f-body forums....... mmmm wonder why..... I wont bash on your car, you dont bash on mine........
we dont have a problem with you posting a vid of you beating a mustang just be sure to post a vid when you get beat by a mustang that will show that your a good sport.....
and i prefer pushrod over ohc engines but I wouldnt mind owning a mod engined mustang....especially a 03/04 cobra
im not bashing on mustangs i love them. hopefully next year ill get to run some ponies. when i had my stang i raced a good amount of other stangs, when i got the ls1, ive only had races with all other ls1 cars. the only 2 stangs ive raced were the one in this vid and my other buddy with a 03 gt 5 speed which is one of the most gorgeous cars ive seen, it looks bad ass.
i have a vid of my buddy in his t/a racing a built 2v saleen with a 2.4 kenne belle strapped on top, and it was brutal.
hopefully ill race some stangs next season, and if i lose, i lose, it doesnt matter to me, just motivates me to go faster. just hopefully i didnt lose any money on the races i lose, lol.

thats the main thing your going to lose to other cars just be a good sport and dont make excuses...... I have friends with all different cars..... supras, mustangs, camaros of course we joke around about each others cars but we also respect the cars and what they can do.
i didnt mean you in general i was just saying thats my mentality but we do get alot of other car owners that come on here just to bash on the mustang and how much better there car is over the mustang... I wish those would just stay away from here...
but there will always be a ford/chevy rivalry. but hey there all american muscle and youve got to love that...

A 4.6L 2v car with a midpipe and catback is bascially a stock car...
But even with a set of LTs and the intake boltons it would not be a fair race.
btw you said what you get most for the money...give us our missing 70 cubes...like a 5.4 atleast..then the game would be played different..since this will never happen...God wins we lose FTW!

haha, stock for stock the cobra will edge out an ls1 f-body, but intake and full exhaust against a stock cobra, my money honestly goes on the ls1.
a 6 speed ls1 is good for a high 12 stock, and from what i hear a cobra is good for a 12.7ish stock (correct me if im wrong)
if an ls1 sprayed a stock cobra, the ls1 better walk away with ease because spray should put an ls1 into the solid 11s with ease.
remember, a brand new cobra back in 03 cost what? 37k?
my ls1 bird with all options after taxes and shipping cost cost 10k less.
sorry i look at how fast you go for the money, and gm seems to be the better bang for the buck, plus the ls1 is a strong ass motor, my mustang buddies say that a stock 2v 4.6 cant handle to much over mid 400s in hp in the stock bottom end.
as i said there are people making mid to high 600hp on stock bottom end ls1s
a top of the line ss non vert depending on dealer snaked them out at 28k...the yellow/black limited verts sold for 40k...nobody is saying your invoice is bs......but you are taking an 03 cobra's vert price...base price for a non vert was in the low 30's...<better bang for the buck too.

I wish I saw this thread earlier...holy crap that Formy absolute raped that GT. I just went "HOLY ****!" outloud. I remember those days. When I had my 02 GT my buddy had a stock 98 LS1 A4 with just a cat-back and it was complete and total rape everytime we raced. I believe the GT gave it all it had, with it's mods it's nothing more than a low 14 GT even with a good driver. The GT is making 235RWHP at best and that LS1 is making well over 320RWHP... no surprise on the butt raping at all.
Sooo glad I'm not in that situation anymore..granted it's costing me more monthly...but it's double the car.
Grabbem - you could get an equally loaded LS1 for the same price as a GT. I don't quite understand why people are under the impression that LS1's are so much more expensive. F-body's were A LOT more expensive back in the 80's & early 90's, but once the 4thgen came out they have been comparable. A brand new LOADED 99-04 GT 'Vert stickers for over $28,000, much like a loaded Convertible SS/WS6. However the F-body is a better car all around and performs much better, so the minimal price difference is completely irrelevant IMO.
I'm not sure I understand what you are talking about with 'Vert Cobra's, but brand new they stickered for over $36,000. Hell, my Coupe stickered for $36,000 or so, I can find the sticker for ya.

anybody asking for 20k for a f-body with 50k+ miles is insane unless its a rare car.
a guy on ls1tech bought a formula firehawk for 23k with 7k miles, yes, 7k. its 1 of only 16 sunset orange metallic formula firehawks and only 1 of 9 six speed ones.
so thats a rare ass car with only 7k miles on it for 23k. anybody asking 20k for a high mileage normal bird or maro is a rip off.
when i was looking for a cobra, the only ones i could find for around 22k had either a lot of miles or had a lot of mods (but my buddy just found one for 22k with 30k, sonic blue, and unmodded ) but i decided to save 10 grand and buy an ls1, because they are pretty mush just as fast stock for stock, a little slower. you just need to shop around for the good deals, ls1 cars are pretty cheap for what you get
