A link to what your referring to would be nice... I do know our cars have a roll bar behind the dash

I saw that the coupe was rated by the NHTSA as 5 stars on frntal crash and 3 stars on side impact. Verts obviously tested lower on side impact. This was on an 02'

I don't know about front impact specs and hopefully I will never have to find out.

I do know from experience that they will take a sh!tkicking from the side and still keep on ticking. Mine was hit by a small truck about a month ago right in the middle of the passenger door (looked just like the side impact tests LOL). Obviously, it needed a boatload of bodywork, but she was still perfectly square and the door didn't come TOO far into the car and stayed latched....if there was a passenger, they prolly would have lived. Better than many wrecks I have seen.

I had a front end crash about a month with a 2001 Mustang and it protected my son ( 12 ) and I. The car was totalled and all I had was a broken thumb. Bumper/frame and hood took the brunt of it. Both fenders were still straight. The seat belts and aribag did exactly what is was designed to do. Saved lives.

I have a 2005 on order.

yea man, buckle up. my brother had an explorer last yr, and some idiot hit him when he was just goin 45 on a busy road in our town. the guy that hit my bro hit him in the right rear wheel. the explorer flipped 4x and was totaled. the rear bench seat flew out the car through the rear hatch window. it was nasty. bro was buckled up, went to the hospital to get some glass out of his body. the 5% tint held most of the window together though. moral of the story, buckle up.
