So I was coming home from Buffalo wild wings and I get stopped at a red light. Next to me is a new looking nissan altima...... I had to go in front of him after the light to get in the right lane so I got on it kinda hard. He also punched it for some reason and fell behind somewhat. I had a perfect half launch (didnt stage) and perfect shifts, chirping 2nd and 3rd. He proceeded in 2nd gear to fly by me, and by 70 mph he was 2-3 car lengths ahead, still gaining? What is with these grocery getters? Whats the stock hp on the new ones? Should I be ashamed for losing to one? Well one thing is decided, skip appearance mods, its all performance now!

You prob saw a 3.5 v6 265+hp at the motor Altima I believe. Now if it was an Altima SER...you would have really been done. Nissan and Infinity V6 motors are not to be toyed with.
Yeah that new tranny is b/s....I drove one and I hated it. They say you always have power...but I feel that it takes away the torque of the engine. Good for straight lines I guess...just my opinian on it...

270HP v6 with some crazy new transmission that nissan says gives "instant response"
don't feel bad... at least you didn't pay 24k+ for something that looks like dirt
That's what I don't get about our cars...we have this huge engine yet a stock 4 cylinder can take us...I'm new to the whole world of cars and modds but it's been puzzling me ... Why not make the fastest six out there??? we have one of if not the largest 6 cylinder motors??? WHY!?!?

Why not? Hint...Ford has a v8 Mustang it also wants to sell, and then upscale versions of that v8 Mustang. Pushing the 4.0 to it's hp limits stock would mean either risk the v6 infringing upon v8 sales, and thus affecting all the v8 sales, or bumping up the power for all the Mustangs. Which in turn would require a higher price tag for each model. Neither option is fiscally responsible, because the truth is 210 hp is more then enough for the average v6 owner and Ford wouldn't sell significantly more v6's if the chp #'s are 210 or 250. We're a small small percentage of the v6 owners, the ones who care little or nothing of rwhp, dynos or mods are the overwhelming majority.
