when i first got the stang, the top motor was inoperable, and the guy said it was more trouble than was worth to try to get the top up manually. so about 9 months ago i took it to an upholstry shop, they put a new top- frame, motor, everything, on it. but it was still having lots of trouble clicking into where it should when putting it back up. took it back and they stretched it a little, reset it on the frame er whatever, and that made it a tad slight bit easier. as it stands right now, i can just barely put it up myself, 2 people can get it done with one person pushing down and the other pulling and latching it. anyways, anybody else have similar problems or know of a easy fix¿

Mine is real tight too. I have to pull forward and down while pushing in the latch, but I am not complaining, it hasnt leaked yet! And with the shape the old top was in, I like it.

Mine was tight and difficult to latch from new. I could get the passenger side latched, but it was hard to do the driver's side, which is supposed to be latched first. Due to a separate issue with it being installed crooked from the factory and wearing a hole in the fabric after just a few months, the local dealer replaced the whole thing, frame and all, under warranty. It's now easy to latch.

Mine is very interesting to latch. I have found the easiest way for me is to put my wieght on the corner of the top I am latching by just laying on it, and then latching it by feel since I can't see it.
