Ahhhhh, finally a place that I can hopefully get answers to my conertible questions. Now let me go look at my vert again and see what I cannot figure out how to take off that I have not already broken in the process.

Somehow I wasn't considering that this would be about ALL Mustang convertibles. I guess I need to get used to looking at some of the older funny-looking body styles too.http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c67/scottrnelson/SM/grin.gif

I own two Mustang convertibles, by the way, a 1995 and a 2005.

Anybody have one from the 60's?

I think it great they started it up. Not sure yet if it will go over very well, but I will do my best to support it.

90sleper, in answer to your wheel question, you'll def have some luck asking in the 50 section. Or I can help ya. What are the plans for the car and what size rim/tire are you looking for. All that factors in w/ backspacing.

The vert, 17x8.5 all the way around 245/275 f/r
Mine, 17x8 front, 17x9 rear, Same tire combo as the vert.

I am runnin 17x9's all the way around with 275's in the rear and 255's up front. Works well for me, with only a little bit of rub.

Hey! That's the wife's car! Don't try to claim it as your own. You're simply not cool enough to own your very own vert ;)

i didn't realize i was posting on this thread...oopps..damn newbies..

i'm most likely going to get 15x8 and 15x3.5 welds. so far i was thinking kumho or bfg..just not sure..some say bfg all the way, then the ones that say kumho so no way to anything but...sooo..i dunno. i'm new into all this stuff so it's kinda nerve racking.
i've seen a few tires/wheels on ebay, but don't know about the backspacing i need.

thanks pro50sc

Sam, I am one of the coolest mofo's you'll ever know!!!;)

90sleper
for the welds, go w/ a 5.5" backspacing for the 8" rims and a 1.75" for the 3.5's.

Oh and find another choice for the kumhos, they are a bottom end tire. I would know!!![:'(]

alright..thanks..you know how it goes when asking multiple people about the same tire..so bfg d/r?

is there a particular "formula" to figure out backspacing..and the backspacing suggested won't make the wheels stick out right?

thanks

the pic attachment i have on my previous post didn't come out too good..used my phone camera..i'll spending the day tomorrow to wash/wax and take some better pics.

can't wait 'til spring!

thanks for the help pro50sc!
