Default Saleen Brake upgrade

Does anyone offer a 4 wheel brake upgrade package for our 05+ Saleens?

I know you can get the Saleen front upgrade (standard on S/C models), but even at that, the rear brakes look so TINY and out of place compared to the front. I would think someone would offer a 4 disc package for better balance across the board.

Brembo? Baer?

Default RE: Saleen Brake upgrade

Nope Brembo, Saleen/Stoptech will never make a caliper and rotor upgrade for the rear.

The reason is because there is too much play in the 2005 and up rear calipers and you will have chatering of the brakes (They will do more harm then good).

Also the rear brakes have only about 10-20% of braking perfomance anyhow.

I saw that baer has a rear conversion kit that makes the rear rotors 14" and relocates the stock caliper.

I dont know if Baer brakes have any kind of true performance value because I have seen no data about them.

I saw you had a stop-tech setup for sale at one time.

Yep your right I had a set of silver Stoptechs but had get rid of them only because I was in a tight bind.

I actually just bought a set of Brembo Gran Turismo 2 piece brakes in silver insted.

I would have bought the Saleen brakes but the the black calipers with yellow lettering kind of bug me cuz they dont match the car.

Ill have them next week and post pics when installed.

Also I saw a saleen with rear Wilwood brakes on the rear you might want to check with them .

I think I'm gonna use the factory Saleen upgrade on the front, and stick some Stoptech slotted rotors on the back with braided brak lines. Should improve the stopping, and definitely will improve the looks.

Steeda offers a new 13" upgrade rotor that utilizes the factory caliper that looks pretty nice, FWIW.
