Backspace! - 11/29/2006 1:44:31 PM    Mustangbeginner   Posts: 3 Joined: 11/27/2006 Status: offline I recently purchased 16x8 rims, with a backspace of 5x4.5. THEY WILL NOT FIT ON MY STANG! Even with a spacer, they rub against the brake caliper--what's going on? I have a 2004 V6. Shouldn't they fit? Post #: 1

My new rims fit in the back, but not in the front. The company that I ordered them from sent me spacers, but they weren't thick enough, so they're sending more. How safe are spacers? By how much should they clear the caliper? If I have them on the front, should I put them on the back to ensure symmetry? Thanks (in reply to colin@tirerack) Post #: 4
