Trying to fix a new audio setup for myself here for Christmas. I have an '00 coupe without the Mach, but with a factory amp. After screwing around with the HU for a weekend, figuring how to hook it up, I managed to get it all connected to the factory amp, and that's good. Next in line are new front speakers, and a subwolfer and amplifier for that. Few questions then:

1. What size speakers will I need for the front, and do they need to be a specific ohm to fit the ford factory amplifier? If so, what ohms?

2. I've decided to go JL Audio (please, don't start a debate chain here. Just my preference.) After looking around, I've figured that one 10 or 12 from them will sound more than sufficient for my rock/country/VERY OCCASSIONAL rap needs. What is a good bargain (for the money) for them, and please match up a good amp as well.

3. What about capacitors? Are they really worth the money for what I listen to?

4. Sub enclosure. Match with the JL you would suggest, where to find, needs to fit in the back of the '00 Coupe.

Just basically type it out as if you were putting this system into your '00 coupe, with the little things I've given you so far. Much appreciated!

bypass the factory amp, its nothing but crap, you can get the bypass harness from any bestbuy or circuit city. The doors are 5x7-6x8, in my vert the rears are the same, I belive they are for the coupe as well. Your best bet would be to get components, alpine makes a nice set with remote mount tweets for you to better set the soundstage, dunno about jl, But JL does make that nice 10" stealthbox that doesnt take much space in the trunk and sounds quite good. The cap really wont do you much good unless youre pumping some serious power. then just mach the RMS of the amp to the RMS of the woofer, peak outputs are about as worthless as tits on a log. For the amp, I have always been fond of Fosgate.

Hope that helps some.

Here is a link for the JL Box

Yeh for what your going with you really dont need the cap, really only need it if you got a huge amp or several amps to prevent a drain on your battery and keep ypur lights from dimming when the bass hits hard, make your setup look cooler but uneccesary
