My Water pump went south, so I started to change it. The first thing I did was soak the bolts with WD-40 for the last 2 days. This morning I start the swap and all of the bolts came out except one. All I can say is SNAP it broke! How screwed am I? what are my options? Do I need to take the timing cover off and try to get the bolt out of the head? Or could I go without that bolt till next spring till the whole motor comes out for a complete tear down. This isn't my daily driver so it isn't going to ran much over the winter here in Indiana.
your gonna have to drill it out. you do need that bolt to keep the gasget sealed. i wouldnt have touched the motor until i was ready for the rebuild in the spring personally.id let her sit till your ready imo.
That sucks... another thing that can be done is to remove the timing cover and if there is any of the bolt sticking out of the block, you can wd40 it at the block and use vise grips to get it out. May need to use a torch as well. (Been there.. done that)

yeah i second that thought.. remove the cover and try to remove it that way.. if vise grips wont work u can try welding another bolt head on there and using that to undo it. also tap on the bolt to loosen it.
try it with the timing cover off and yea pb blaster is really good, way better than wd, if that doesn't work the bolt's going to have to be drilled and retapped....
