Hi everyone,

Why would someone put a lower profile tire on the back? For example, let's say your put 245/45/17s on front and 285/40/17s on back. Wouldn't this make the front of the car a little taller than the back? Any ideas?

no because the wider u get the lower the profile will be to make it fit. like on an 18x9 rim. going 255/40/18 in front and 275/35/18 in back would work because if u went 275/40/18 it would be taller in the front than the back.

The second number is just a percentage of the width of the tire. 245mm across. 45% of 245mm and you have your sidewall height.
