My friends T78 vs a guy with a Paxton supercahrged 5.0. I'm not sure about other mods, but he said something about a 330 motor? or 331? Also has Trikflow manifold and claimed hwas pushing 18psi. Supra was only running 22psi with a mix for pump and Cam2. Straight cam 2 is good for 28 psi (roughly 650rwhp).
The guy was talking a lot of s**t from the start so they decided to both settle it on the street. I only got one race which was from a stop. The second one was from a roll and it was worse for the Mustang. Enjoy the vid

Geez, thats a s**tload of boost, I don't think Ive ever seen or heard of someone running that much... at least for more than a few minutes till something went BOOM! lol

do drive your blown Hemi to and from work? and when you do..are you not making minor earthquakes? oh and one more thing....is your motor stock? and....im willing to bet you have more then a 5 LITER V mothaf**kin 8 in there compared to a 3 liter 6 cyl with STOCK bottom end

nice argument. ive gotta say that hes right...call it dyno queen all you want, supra is a smart car. not insane ass displacement, but still can do some damage with just a turbo. not trying to say displacement isnt a good thing, but supras are alright in my book. Jugador37871.9827893519

Abdel - no, he doesn't drive a blown hemi at all. He's talking s**t. He doesn't even drive his Saturn anymore since he broke the differential trying to break into the 15's. :)
30 psi isn't insane boost on an engine that's built to take it.
Unfortunately a lot of mustang owners think that the 5.0 is the end-all of strong motors because they can do 6-8 psi reliably on stock internals, and 10 psi or so with a little bit of work.
Toyota makes some of the most stout bottom ends out there. I'd certainly like to pick up a late model Supra. Not only is it reliable and fast, but it's good looking too.

I agree... your talking like 3.5 + hp per cubic inch is an everyday thing for a Subra at the rear wheels! If a nascar engine made 3.5 hp per cubic inch at the wheels they would have 1200+ hp, approx 1400hp at the motor... instead of 750...
Maybe im just crazy, but 650 rwhp, even on a front wheel drive, would be a 9 second car...

Since when does it matter I drive them to work or not? I fail to see how my present car reflects my knowledge on the subject matter. An underdriven roots supercharger on a 426 cid Hemi will make massive amounts of power, and who cares if it's making an earthquake, that's what a big block does!
Actually, yes, stock bottom end. Go read Hot Rod magazine some time, maybe flip through the back issues and lood for a nice fat roots blown hemi on a green cover. Pretty good reading.
Also, who cares if it's making as much/more power with more cubes? Technology doesn't mean s**t, who crosses the line first does. My little 15 second Saturn (high 15's, but much better than 16.5) is a dinosaur compared to new honda motors, but the simple lack of torque doesn't help them at all.

It's what splits the power between the wheels. Unfortunately, the roll pin for the diff has a tendency to find it's way out of place and from there the carnage happens quickly.......which results in the transmission casing getting a hole eaten through it.

They could do it, but you forgot about two things:
F/I increases power output per cid immensely (NASCAR is still n/a)
They have restrictor plates under the carbs to limit horsepower production.

anyone seen old school? "i just took the restrictor plate off the red dragon to give it a little more juice. but try to keep that on the down-low; she's not exactly "street legal"." i love that movie.

22psi is bs? by that do you mean he was running more? I do think that guy in the mustang is a bs'er he claimed to have a built motor..something liek a 330 motor or a 331? I dont know..but hey its what he said....
If you believe he was running more then 22psi at the time. I invite you to come down here and ill show you what 22psi does

My point being is that many supras 650whp-900whp (on stock bottom end) are complete daily drivers for a lot of poeple. They drive almost like a stock car and go post 180mph. Its like comparing your car to a funny car. That car will cross the line first, but he'ss trailoring his car in and out and your driving yours home or whatever you do.
As far as bottom end. I'm impressed. What kind of power do you make?
