Didn't get a transponder, as it was my first time at a track and I just wanted to learn how to drive. My buddy (instructor) said I probably ran in the 1:30's. Hallett is a 10-turn 1.8 mile track. FWIW, we ran clockwise the day I was there.
Thanks for the compliments!

For 2 reasons. This thread has been mentioned in other threads lately so I thought I'd bring'er to the top. The second reason is PJ #57 is coming up on the one year since delivery mark (the day after Thanksgiving). Any thoughts on how I should celebrate?
Choose the best answer:
a) Wash and Wax (boring - like every other weekend) b) Hold up a bank and use a grabber orange getaway car. c) See how many (blank) I can cram into the car - take a picture. sub-question: (blank) can equal a) women b) midgets c)kumquats d) All of the above.

Ideas?
Congratulations! So how did you celebrate your special day? (I hope it didn't actually involve mixing women, little people, and kumquats.)
I washed 'er up and took a ride with my 2 year old son. It wasn't as good as little people and kumquats, but hey.... also less mess.
Meanwhile, just for total disclosure, there has been a RECALL on the Saleen PJ. The Watt's link can be stressed at its attachment to the frame rail to the point of failure (as per the Letter informed me from Bill Vaughn at Saleen). Saleen is paying for a fix which includes an additional cross brace and different hardward on the pivot. There's a pdf of the issue floating around on the grabber orange site but I don't have a quick linky. Apparently it only gets that stressed if you are doing 'racetrack driving' so I shouldn't take mine to work until I get this done... :)
We'll see how all this gets handled from my local Saleen dealer and the 'New Saleen' what with all the changes in managment. With only 500 vehicles in need of the modification, this should turn out to be a smooth recall. (famous last words....)
Stay tuned, I'll keep you posted. I haven't even called to get an appointment yet.
I have not been notified of this, and you know to this day, I have yet to receive my decals. I have contacted my dealership several times regarding this and they just blow me off. It's sad, because between my bro & I we forked out over 150K in less than a month. My bro bought himself the 07 Shelby, and before he had bought the PJ for me, I had bought a custom F250 truck. I even sent an email to Saleen, but of course no response. Any suggestions?

Also, CarFX here in Tulsa, OK made me some awesome replica vinyl numbers that stay on all the time. They still have the program from when I had mine made, and many PJ owners have had some of those placed.
Here's me dropping off the PJ... Pulled in behind another Saleen!! (sorry for the crappy iPhone pics).
I actually had to take it in just to get them to initiate the recall (which was a total waste of time IMO).
Then, Saleen closed down for the holidays so 2 weeks later I was back for the installation ( I kept the car in my garage, not theirs... )
A couple other cool things I saw at Joe Cooper Ford in Tulsa dropping my car off....
Recognise this car by the powerplant? Yup. A Ford GT. I didn't feel so bad having my car pulled up next to this one in the service area...
Also some retrobuilt GT500s that start as a new Shelby and get the whole retro thing done to them...
Nice cars. Alot of work when you really look at it. CarFX in Tulsa is working on getting this out to eager consumers...
So after leaving it for an afternoon, I get the 'new and improved' Watt's link (example - note the black reinforcement)
Those last two pics are from USMC's PJ, as I haven't taken pics of my Watt's link post recall, but mine looks exactly the same as above, so you get the idea.
Impressions: other then freaking out having my baby at a dealership for ANY amount of time, all went well. I've heard others getting really slow service from Saleen sending these recall parts out. It probably depends on the dealer and how many Saleens they move. Some have said the new brace makes the suspension feel stiffer. I don't feel much of a difference but I feel better that the engineers were proactive about getting this fix in place as a recall.
Now I can park her back in the garage where it's safe!
Lastly, since I'm being a picture whore on this post, here's a random pic of my bike!
Cheers!!
Other PJ'ers post up your wait or issues with the recall if you'd like, and I welcome any and all others.
Way to keep everyone informed Chuck and keep adding to the post!!! I love the bike as well. Is that based off a CBR F4 series bike or the 900 series bikes? Is it any quicker then stock?
Peace.
