Hey, When i took out my mustang engine about a month ago and pulled the dipstick out. Im about ready to put it back in and look at the dipstick and the engine and the end of the dipstick( estimating about a 1/2 inch long) is stuck in the block. IS there any way to get this out?? Or do i just drill it out then have oil stuffs in my NEWLY cleaned engine. I can twist it a little but cant pull it out. Any suggestions?? -Jon
Same thing happened to my 302. I'm trying to keep it low on the priority list till spring cause I read it's a pain to take the oil pan off. Let me know how it went and what steps you took. Good luck.
ypu need to list the mustang rims as a mod on ur grand prix[8D]

There is an unbelievable amount of water that collects in the oil pan with condensation. After so many years the rust on the dipstick actually will rust through and cause the dipstick to break in half. If you are lucky, you can fish it out, but most likely you will need to take the oil pan out to get the broken and rusted dipstick out.
I have had success using a large sheet metal screw that is big enought to just screw into the broken piece. Screw it in until it grips the piece and then clam some vice grips on the head and tap it out with a hammer.
