Nope. I personally hate the new stang. Hate it. I've hated every stang since 1993. I really think that "Mustang" was really at its peak during 1964-71 and 1987-93. The Fox Bodys were true power and excellent styling. All this chrome and old time styling is good and all but it really doesn't belong in a mainstream sports car for the 21st century. If it were offered as a serparate "Classic Mustang" model, it would be alright but such a drastic change in styling is definetely not approved by me. I surely won't reccommend the new Mustang to anyone if it isn't changed by production time.

I completey agree ! I have a 2003GT its a Motherf***ing dog, I loved the classics and am cautiously optimistic for the new 05's.

As you may tell this 03GT has soured my taste for Mustangs, but every car show I go to, the old Stangs get my full attention...not this plastic s**t of today.

Right, a box on wheels looks stunning

True power...what power? A stock 99+ GT 5 speed is enough to wax the Fox Body 5.0's.
me 2,

I like the look of the 05 GT......but I am going to wait untill 2006 when all the good mustangs come out....

2006 mustang line up includes the

V6 coupe and convertable, GT with new improved 4.6L, the MACH I with 320HP,

the COBRA with the new supercharged 5.4L putting out 515HP, the BOSS mustang,,,,   AND YES FOR ALL YOU RICH FOLK OUT THERE THE SHELBY MUSTANG COBRA 750HP.....NOW THAT IS A GREAT LINE UP OF SHEER POWER
I am waiting for the '05 SVT Cobra as well.  I pray, pray, pray that the

front bumper, rear bumper, and interior dash is not like the '05 GT.

If it is the same, then I would be one lost cobra customer, 'cause I don't think I would buy it.  The '05 does not look refined enough to be an SVT.

Is there an SVT wish list site that I can go to?

Well if they keep up brining back the old styles.  Next on the last will be the fox body.  I wonder what that might look like.

That will probably be down the road a bit since they just started bringing back the original models.

I didn't have time to read through this whole thread but I heard quite a lot of questions concerning the price of the new 'Stangs.  I'd just like to say that I did overhear something on the news recently about the base model pony being under $20,000.  Supposedly they are trying to get the low-end model back to its original status as the affordable sports car.  One can only hope...

Have you guys heard this?

I WAS HOLDING OUT FOR AN 05 WHEN I FIRST SAW THE CONCEPT CAR...BUT WHEN I GOT MY MOTOR TREND MAGAZINE FORD HAD CHANGED THE HOOD, BUMPERS ETC...IT LOOKS TO PLAIN.... I'M 29 AND FRANKLY I'M SICK AND TIRED OF THE "OLD SCHOOL" LOOK THESE LAZY DESIGNERS ARE COMING OUT WITH..... THIS CAR IS MADE FOR PEOPLE OVER 40 YEARS OLD THAT NEED TO RIDE IN A COMFORTABLE CAR AND REMEMBER SEEING THE OLD MUSTANGS THAT'S GOING TO LOOK LIKE THE NEW ONE RIDING AROUND IN A FEW MONTHS.....

Shoulda bought a new GTO then...it's about as far away from "old school" look as you can get with still having the trusted nameplate from the 70s...not to mention you're actually faster.

The 2005 looks sweet as far as im concerned, but if i get one i will take the running lights put them together and mount them under the grill somewhere and then i will buy some side louver(scopes) for those mini rear windows on the side. Then she'll look like the old shelbys.

I've done the same thing. I'm way too picky sometimes.
