Hell yeah. Those 05 stangs are gonna look sweet!! But they'll be all over the road. I live in San Antonio Texas and over here, 1 out of 10 cars you see on the road is a mustang. So i bet when the new ones come out, you will see a lot more of them then ever before, especially the v6's.

sounds like bs to me.  ford will go in debt if they offer all that.  sure it sounds cool, but design and prod. costs will skyrocket and then the mustang will join f-bodies in history, as good and fast, but too overpriced to sell enough.

sorry guys,,,

I should have added ...SEE MY POST  ON PAGE 11 under the 2005 mustang times thread,,,,I have some round about prices I posted....the 05 mustang will go thru the same transition as the 04 F-150...

EXAMPLE.....

The 2003 F-150 extended cab 4x2 XLT prices $26,500-$30,200

The 2004 F-150 extended cab 4x2 XLT prices $26,750-$30,450

As you can see there is not much difference in price....AND IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE ME GO TO YOUR NEAREST FORD DEALER......

uhh, you know where believing everything you hear gets you?  not really far.  a sense of reality is a good tool.  get one.  thats bs if you think they can offer over 100 more hp for 500 dollars on a whole new chassis and body design with a bigger, so presumably more expensive engine.

The 2005 stang has some nice body lines and the engine compartment looks way clean.

Keep in mind that the F-150 is Ford's bread and butter. No other single vehicle by any manufacturer comes close to selling as many as the F-150. They can spread the tooling costs across a much, much larger customer base than they will be able to with the Mustang. The F-150 was also plagued with being the feminine truck since the big three redesigned. Ford wanted and had to do something to change that and come back with a truck that looked 'Ford Tough'

Just some news from FORD (horse's mouth). <just go to there site

www svt ford com / flash / index html  <---- "There is no intent for production for the BOSS mustang."  "There is no intention of production of the Cobra CJR" <that's the 6.1L Cobra R>

The regular Cobra will probably be produced however.

that BOSS or 6.1L would have been great.   Still 2 more years for that, they may change their mind.     (hey, I can hope can't I?)

Don't count on it ford is too confused to what they are doing these days took forever to get the t-bird produced for the masses and now they say it will no longer be built. Thats ok it sucks to work on. what a waste of money that went into that project. The new 2004 f150 just worked on one this weeek they are nice but damm the price is up there. The dash looks good I like the chrome gauges. The new boss is just a dream for us mustang lovers ford has lost what it takes to build a car like that for the public

Here is a link with some 2005 Photos.  Not sure if it's Photoshop, because if it is they did one hell of a job.  Write Opinions

Of course it is photoshop!  Look at the speedometer readings.  The tires even look fake!  And if you look real close, the carpet is dirty in one of the pics.

I read in the Dec. 03 Car Craft mag. that ford is building an all new aluminum 3.5L DOHC 24-valve Duratec 35 V-6. Its rumored that it will be installed in Jaguars , F150s, and the base mustang. It said expect high-torque versions for truck use to make 240 hp, while versions tuned for car use could hump out as much as 270 hp. This could result in a V-6 Mustang thats quicker than most of the V-8 Mustangs that have been built since 1964. Looks like i will be putting more hop-ups ons, and if i get beat by a V-6 i will trade it in.

you sure they'd put it in the mustang?  that would raise costs.  3.8 probably doesnt cost nothin therefore they can sell base mustangs so cheap, which means they can sell a lot of em
