Default '85 2.3 clutch fork

Will it work on an '88 4cylinder trans? I asked in 4cylinder section, but not many people there. The only think keeping me from finishing my '84 turbo 2.3 project car is not having a bellhousing or clutch fork. I've bought a brand new throwout bearing, I just don't know if there is a difference between them that will effect this.
The car at the junkyard is an '85 2.3 with a 4speed transmission. I was told they are the exact same dimensions just don't have a 5th gear. Does anyone know if the bell & clutch fork will work on my '84 (with an '88 2.3 trans)
