Amy, it's your car - put on it what you want to put on it..... Life's too short to worry about that other stuff, make it what you want.

Still looking for members in Texas.....

Hey, I'm here -- how many more Texans do you need?

Actually there are a few more on this forum...

I for one really like the looks of this car (first saw it a few months back)
I wouldn't be too worried about looking too "SHELBY" as with 640 HP all a shelby will see is the rear end and not for too long at that.

On the other hand;
I'm really disapointed at the fitment of those saleen pieces when looking at the rear view. looks like all three pieces of the wing could be adjusted to fit better. Nit picking ..YES.. but I hope others are a little better fitting then this.

Here's a pic of a similar car (just disregard all that extreme and 640 crap plastered all over it...)

That white car with the blue stripes is a really early double digit 05 car. Not to defend Saleen or anything but it's an early car from the first year hence the lousy fitting rear bumper and pink third brake light.

Either that or they shaved it to make it MORE EXTREME!!!! They definately needed some more switches and gauges in there. This was not enough

GAS had a good time with that car.

As does the un-even trunk portion of the duck-tail

My car was the same way. I removed the trunk portion, bored out the wholes a bit larger for the bolts and re-installed. It gives you a little play to get it lined up before cranking them tight.

Interesting - my car is #92 and had the fitment issue. I never looked at my brake light, guess I should. I don't see the pink. Is the problem with the lense itself, or the LED's

Sowaxeman, you would know if it were pink -- it's not a little pink, it's really pink. Not the LED's, it's actually the plastic that appears to have faded in a very short amount of time.

Mine's #52 and the deck is also not lined up as it should be. However I don't think I can fix it myself and am terrified of having a dealer do it. Maybe when I take her to a new dealer at her next service checkup I'll have gained some courage...

Or you could road trip to Indy and I could fix it for your

I should have done a How To w/pics when I did it, but I didn't realize at the time it was such a common issue Basically the trunk portion of the duck-tail is held on from the inside of the trunk lid by 4-6 bolts (can't seem to recall exactly). Once they are all removed it will come straight off, but you'll have to disconnect the 3rd brake light to set it off to the side. The holes that need to be bored larger (further down toward the ground actually) are in the factory trunk lid. Close the lid, tape/cover up the bumper area to avoid shavings from scratching it, and make the holes about 1/8" bigger. Be CARELFUL not to let the drill bit go in too far or you will hit the black rear light housings on the outer two holes . I applied a dab of touch-up paint to the new bored holes to prevent rust. Once dry I reinstalled the tail and finger snugged the nuts. Then I had my wife pull down on the tail so the bolts would be resting at the very bottom of the new holes while I torqued them the rest of the way. The result is not quite 100% perfect, but CONSIDERABLY better than before

Sowaxe, I'm thinkin' you need to take a road trip to Fort Worth before you move here permanently -- just to check out the area, you understand.

And thanks so much for the instructions!

A few days ago I saw a white Saleen ('05 or '06) with two fat black stripes running over hood, roof, trunk, etc. like the old mustangs used to have and it looked really good.

Okay, I don't have the $$ right now, but am wondering about putting silver stripes on my car. Would love to get the feedback of the Saleen-loyal (I'm thinking Saleenanistas? Saleenazzi?). Is striping a Saleen sacrilege? Tacky? A fabulous idea? You wouldn't do it, but there's nothing wrong with it? Hurt resale? Just in case I win the lottery and have a bunch of extra cash laying around...

Thanks in advance!

I think as far as Saleenistas approval, you will need to go a little higher up.

Everyone to His/Her own, I wouldn't mainly because it's not stock. I'm not sure what I would think if I saw a Roush Mustang with Saleen lower stripes.

Less is sometimes more...........don't "TammyFayeBaker" your beautiful car! See tooooo many 'stangs running around with racing stripes already. The muscle car war has become the "bling-bling" war with so many badges and decals all over the place.

If you have to stripe it......do something original with it.

Not to worry; Georgia won't be the Tammy Faye memorial mustang.... I decided against the stripes many months ago.

Didn't want the "bling" to interfere with her "thing"!
